Is there ever a sale on park tickets?

Hi, I am coming to Orlando in Feb for a WDW vacation. I want to take one day to go to Orlando to see Harry Potter.

Is there ever a sale on tickets? I have two adults and two kids.

Also can we get away with just an islands of adventure ticket or should we get the one that has both parks?

Never a sale on one day tickets but often a sale on multi-day. There is a buy 2 days, get a third free sale on right now.

You can always get a one park pass and upgrade it once you get there.

There is a sale going on now with the 3 day tickets. They have to used before May 20. Go to Undercover Tourist. I have bought from them many times, and they usually have the best prices. I don't know if your going to get a price break on a 1 day ticket those are usually the most expensive.

the darkside doesn't need to ever do a one day ticket sell.
many peeps come in for one day visits constantly.

what they are encouraging are multiday visits.

If you get to IoA at opening you can easily finish it in less than a day. Given that, you may want to get 2 park (ie hopper) tickets. There are not that many rides at IoA as compared to the Studios side.
