If you look at the difference between the first two
DCL ships and the last two, in my mind, I see more mind-challenging activities added for guests than physical. If you want lots of physical activities aboard ship then perhaps other cruise lines are for you. Personally, I am more impressed with DCL imagineering with virtual portholes, detective agency challenges with activated pictures, MDR shows, etc. than adding a climbing wall. The kids' activity clubs/labs include physical and mental, as well as personal enrichment challenges, so that they have fun and learn from a variety of experiences. I can't wait to see how the three new ships will be equipped. Perhaps they will have an added surf simulator or new physical activity on deck. I bet they put the bulk of their creativity into electronics and mind-blowing new technology. After all, you can get plenty of physical activities during certain port excursions...hikes, zip-lining, rock climbing, etc. We recently finished a week on a DCL Alaska cruise...lots of physical options at every port.
