Is there anywhere you recommend at Downtown Disney?

Isnt there a Seafood place there also. We have never tried it, So I dont know how fancy it is. I think it is on a boat.

Raglan Road, we love this place, or House of Blues...We really enjoyed HOB when we went to Cirque and its right next door. Enjoy the show; it's awesome!

Raglan Road doesn't seem to adhere to ADRs, so I would allow a good bit of extra time to get to Cirque if you eat there.

A lot of people don't like Fulton's, but we had an excellent meal there last summer and it's pretty upscale.

We have eaten at HoB many times and loved it! Great food and atmosphere and super close to Cirque.

Other than that I would do WPE counter service...killer food!

House of Blues and Raglan Road are always good choices in our book - we've had nothing but great experiences at both. And as someone else already pointed out, HoB is just across the walkway from Cirque so you won't have far to walk after your meal.

Thanks for the info, folks! WPE is a place that I'd REALLY like to get to - now I have a reason to say WHY we should go there - "it's sooooo close to Cirque!" and "we don't have to hoof it from the Marketplace ALL THE WAY to the theater!" ;) HoB may or may not work out for my picky eaters.....although it's a good option. And Planet Hollywood is another good option if the rest of my crew (read that: DH!) isn't interested in WPE. We may be running all over the West Side in the hours before the show!!! :rotfl:

I am definitely looking for table service so it looks like WP cafe or House of Blues are the most rec'd so far. We ate at H of B a few years ago and enjoyed it but it isn't very upscale. I assume that WP cafe would be considered a more upscale dining experience for our foodie friends is that correct?

I ate at Wolfgang Puck Cafe a few months ago prior to a Cirque show, and it had been several years since the last time we ate there. We used to enjoy the restaurant quite a bit, but I was thoroughly disappointed in how much the service, atmosphere and quality of food had declined.

Although the Cafe (downstairs) is pretty inside, it's not what I'd call an upscale environment. It's really loud (especially if you sit near the kitchen/bathrooms) and the tables seem a bit crowded. Our service was really rushed and our dinners were served lukewarm.

As Orlando locals, we frequently eat at Epcot and the signature restaurants in the resorts, but our experience at WPC was really lackluster. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who considers themselves a foodie.

I have had several recent experiences at Raglan Road, however, that were fantastic. We've also enjoyed Bongo's in the past, but it's been a while.

We are going to be in WDW for the Food and Wine fest in Oct (4 adults) and plan go to Cirque on a Tuesday night. I thought it would be easier to eat at DTD than go elsewhere that night but nothing seems to have overwhelmingly positive reviews. We will be with people who are real "foodies" so I would rather eat at another location than be stuck with a mediocre meal at DTD. What would you recommend?

Raglan Road Irish Pub..........all the way!!:thumbsup2

I really like Wolfgang Cafe as well, it is our first evening's meal every trip down.

Portobello Yacht Club is pricey but has great food and a great wine list - even good service! It's the only "fine dining" restaurant we have found at DTD. We had a great meal there and I would highly recommend it.

I agree. If your friends are foodies, they would probably enjoy Portobello's. Wolfgang Pucks Cafe is not bad either and the selection is pretty good. The sushi is very good. There is always Fultons for fresh seafood. Pricey but consistently good seafood.

For foodies, my recommendations would be Wolfgang Puck Upstairs (not the Cafe), Portobello Yacht Club, or Fultons. We usually eat at HOB for a nice, casual meal, but it's not an upscale experience.

WPC is the loudest restaurant I've ever been to. We left our meal 1/2 eaten to escape the noise. We didn't think the food lived up to the Wolfgang Puck name either.

For the person worrying that WPC is too formal for their young kids, it's actually perfect for kids that age. They can be as loud as they want & noone will notice. ;)

Also, people shouldn't go to WPE (Marketplace - We haven't eaten at the other.) expecting a near table service experience at a counter service restaurant. The food is better than most CS, but it's still CS. If you go expecting more, you may be disappointed. Enjoy it for what it is, a good CS location.

last year and loved it. Did not find it noisy, service was terrific and the spring rolls were so good!!! They graciously accomodated my DD's friends special requests and, although she was not on DDP and I paid OOP for her, they brought a special birthday dessert and did not charge me for it. I'd go back in a heartbeat!!!
