Is there anyway to get a room discount?

I have 10 days with free dining, but we need somewhere to stay for 3 days afterwards. We were going to go to Nickhotel, but decided we will have to much luggage to fit into a car to go to the airport. So now we want to use the Magical Express both ways, and stay at POP the whole time. When I priced the room it was $313 for 3 days, not bad, but I'm spoiled with all these deals. If I stay off site I can get a room for $34! Does anyone know of any discounts?

Well if you were going to spend $250 or more a night at the Nick Hotel, I would just stay put and pay the $313! Seems like a good deal when you look at it that way.....
I am not an expert or anything, but if you are staying during the free dining, they probably are not going to start offering more discounts, as you are already saving tons of money not having to buy food!

The nickhotel was only $140 a night. That's why we were thinking of going there. The 3 nights we are staying after the free dining will be the 9-12 of Oct. so free dining is well over by then.

1) There are some cheap hotels near Disney.
2) Try (for mid-July pricing)
. . . Howard Johnson's Main Gate - starts about $59
. . . Travelodge Main Gate - starts about $69
. . . Westgate Inn - starts about $49
. . . Super-8 Mainbgate - starts about $45

Are the three nights right after your free dining? Have you tried just to add it to your previous reservation...and get the free dining for those three days as well? As long as one night falls into the time period, you should be able to do it. I just added days yesterday. You could also downgrade to a standard room, using AAA discount, I think I priced it for value season and it was like $70 a night, and see if they would just upgrade you so you didn't have to move!

I already have the dining and hotel for 10 nights with Disney. They will only let you book up to 10 nights on that deal, then I have to have a new reservation for the next 3 days. The rate for the 3 days after that was $313 I don't have AAA do you think it would be worth it to buy into AAA for the discount?

Check into one of the resorts. We stayed at a Westgate resort for some ungodly low rate. I believe it was under a $100 for three nights. Now we did have to sit through an extremely high pressure sales pitch for 90 minutes but I'm good at saying "NO"

Beautiful room, nice pool...

If you are familiar with Priceline, some DIS'ers had posted back in April that they got the All Star Music and All Star Sports for $36 on there (Priceline) for May/June, but I've never heard anymore about it lately, so I don't know if that's still available or not. Here's a link to that thread if you want to read their posts:

and also a couple of reports on biddingfortravel showing what some people booked:

2 1/2* Disney's All Star Music 6/9-6/11 $36
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saw the bids & tried my luck. I started with just 6/10. Saw I got the AS Music & added the 9th on. Each night's total was $47.73 with tax & fee's. My bid was $36. I was very happy to have gotten it.. I actually jumped out of my chair. I was originally staying at Pop Century from 6/3-6/11. Now I am saving some money.

DISNEY ALL STAR SPORTS
Received 2 nights on first bid for $36 from 5/30 to 6/1. When asked if I wanted to add 2 more nights, I was able to get from 6/1 to 6/3. A 2nd bid a few minutes later allowed me to add 2 additional nights, 6/3 to 6/5. Not bad, 6 nights for $216 at DISNEY!!!

2.5* Disney All Star Sports $36 5/30/06
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Accepted on first bid.

Bid $36
1 room
1 night

$11.71 tax and service fees

$47.71 total

Of course, depending on when you are going Disney might not use PL to sell any rooms if they are fully booked. Sorry but I have never used Priceline myself so I can't help much! I just remember thinking that was a great price for those rooms...
