Hi everyone
Is there anything that you forgot to take to WDW and needed to buy and was either expensive or not at the parks.:confused3 We are going in 14 days and feel that I am forgetting something?? Please help with my packing list. We are not renting a car so would like to bring as much as possible, hate to spend a day looking for something and not wnjoying WDW.

Thank you Christine:yay:

ugh my battery charger for my camera :( They didn't sell the type I needed at the camera store in Epcot, however they offered to charge my battery for free! There wasn't enough time that night so we went back the next morning and went on TT and Soaring again while it charged! I felt the pixie dust :)

That was first thing on list but that was very nice to charge for you. That is why I love disney. I have batteries, chargers, suntan lotion, advil, tums, bandaids, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, bathing suits, cameras, camcorders, clothes of course, sandels, running shoes, hats. Is there anything else we can think of, I am going out of my mind trying to remember everything. I have resorted to putting lists on my blackberry when I remember them in middle of day or night.:grouphug:

Wireless router so everyone can access the internet at once. (We turn off data roaming and download our emails in the room.)

Sunglasses (I think my DD may forget them intentionally so she gets a new pair every trip.)

Necksafe if you have one to put your room key etc in when you go to the park. Easily accessable and if that's all you need to take you can avoid the bag check line.

Umbrella

How about bug spray or wipe? The bugs are starting to come out and I even heard of people spotting mosquitos!

I always start my list WAAAY before my trip because I KNOW I'll forget something, so I give myself time to slowly "remember" and write it down on my list.

Oh, how about those mini air fresheners? The concentrated ones? They're great for keeping the bathroom fresh after a uh...number 2. The fan can only do so much until someone needs to go again

SCISSORS!!!!! We just got back and let me tell you that scissors are not available to purchase anywhere on property unless you want Mickey shaped trim (scrapbooking scissors). I couldn't cut off pieces of moleskin and almost went insane! Thankfully I had pre-cut a few pieces before we left but the last couple of days of our vacation were touch and go after we ran out.

My make-up bag and the camera charger! My Mom was helping me put things away before she dropped us at the airport. When she went to my restroom, she saw my cosmetic bag and put it away in my drawer. When I went to do my "look around", I did not see it so I forgot all about it. On another trip, my camera charger. Had to go to best buy and was shocked :headache: at how much it was going to cost me. Luckily DD15 had hers.

I pack a power cord, I can then use my netbook while I am sitting on the bed. And I can charge camera batteries etc.

I see you have suntan cream, don't forget to protect those lips with Lip Balm with a nice SPF.

Don't forget to bring the addresses of those you want to send postcards to.

We usually go in the winter and on a few occasions have needed to buy a sweater or fleece to wear while there.:)

For some reason I don't think to pack cool weather clothes for Florida.;)

I have a small size makeup bag that I use as a medicine kit. I pack an assortment of things that I have on hand at home....gravol, cough drops, pepto etc. I go through my basket at home and see what I might want to bring. I don't bring the whole package....just a few and I make sure that I have instructions for each. I do this for a few reasons....

1. I already have these things at home and have already paid for them.
2. I like to have it available if needed rather than have to try to find a place to purchase it.

I also have a really long packing list that I made years ago and just keep to reuse for every trip. One thing that I really find useful is a soft sided cooler that I buy at the dollar store. If I'm at a hotel that doesn't have a fridge we fill it with ice and chill drinks or whatever....store it in the bathtub as it will leak. If the hotel has a fridge we will bring it to the pool for drinks and snacks.

I always bring a mini hand sanitizer gel (with a plastic clip on thing i found at Bath and Body Works...you can clip it to anything!) for when were walking around. And agreed about the air freshner....always bring that as well! Extra memory cards for your camera?? An extra battery? bandaids? Polysporin? I always keep a travel sewing kit in my bag "just in case"

After having to buy cough medicine, muscle rub and sunburn ointment there, I have learned to pack for every possible medical problem, even if I can get travel size. I pack Aloe gel for sunburns, cough/cold pills, immodium, muscle rub, polysporin, bandaids, tylenol, pepto, benadryl stick for bug bites, and pretty much anything in my medicine cabinet. If I have room to pack it, I would rather take it with me and not need it than need it and have to buy it! And I agree with the scissors, but make sure they're not in your carry on!

If you wear glasses, a cloth and cleaner...

Bring any over the counter medications that I think there is a slight possibility that I will need.

Calling card to use from the US (cheaper than calling from the hotel room and some cell plans)

Photocopies of all documents, tickets, etc. List of credit card numbers etc. Copies of passports as well

Hope you have a great trip!

I always bring stuff for sore throats, the stuff they sell there is nowhere near as good as ours. I found this out once when I had a cough at WDW and their stuff was basically candy.

and I agree with scissors.

I agree with all the hints given by the PPs. My "must have" that I NEVER want to forget: Peppermint foot gel from BodyWorks. You know how bad your feet are going to feel after a day in the parks. This stuff is absolute heaven at the end of a day!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

We keep a long list of stuff specific to our timeshare stays, but for general items I'd suggest the following gems:

  • little bottles of Blair's hot sauce - can zip up the blandest of WDW foods
  • Crystal Light drink packets - you can have a different flavor water at every break!
  • Swiss army knife - a really good one, includes scissors, screwdriver, tweezers, etc. (don't pack in your carry on!)
  • A little zip purse and paper clips for each person in the party. We collect all our receipts through our stay so we can fill out the customs declaration accurately. You'd be surprised how quick they clear you through if they ask for receipts and you pull out an organized bundle.
  • We bring several packs of beef jerky, a favorite high protein snack for everyone while touring the parks. Not hard to find if you are staying off-site, but hard to find our favorite brand.
  • A bundle of zip lock bags (3 sizes) - a million uses!
  • Good water bottles for everybody - saves a bundle on bottled water. We tried out the Pure water sleeves (Chapters) this year. They are freezable, so will provide cold water for quite a while in the heat (need access to a freezer tho...)

I too make a copy of all my documents, includes my ID, Passport and all my credit cards. I leave one at home (for the house sitter), one with my parents (in case I can't get a hold of the house sitter), and I bring one. I include in the documents phone numbers of all of the contacts (visa/MC), including the nearest Canadian Consulate (a little overkill, but when you lose your passport or if it gets stolen, this is a godsend!).

I also agree with the ziplock bags...I LOVE these things for travelling...you just never know when you will need them. And usually, I use every single one I travel with by the end.

Travel size of sun screen for the parks. And a sunscreen lotion for my face...I get a small container from sephora and bring that into the park with me instead of spraying a screen on my face, I can just apply a dab of a sun screen meant for a face (the mixture of oil based products and the heat = break out for me!).

I also agree with the medicines. Nothing sucks more than having to find meds when you are travelling. I bring a pretty good first aid kit too...again, you never know when you are going to need it, and I have used something from it the last 2 trips we have taken. Short of reseting a bone and/or stitches, I can pretty much do small medical miracles with my first aid kit, and truly, it isn't that big (I am a nurse though, so I do have some experience with medical issues). I leave it in the car when we are in the parks (they have first aid stations for a reason), but I do bring in collapsable scissors, moleskin and bandaids into the parks.

We should start of list of things we won't pack again as they were a waste of space!

BBW has one from their blue collection that is a gel that works for tired feet and as an after burn gel....it is heaven sent!
