Is there anyone who doesn't like BCV?

Well, I own at BCV and have stayed at BWV. Not sure there is a whole lot of difference between the two. Villas are very similar. BWV may have an edge on views from the villas and BCV the edge for a pool (SAB). Neither is as well themed as say VWL. And OKW remains our favorite as an entire package.

Our preference of your choices is the YC/BC/BCV complex. The restaurants, SAB, and Beaches and Cream are all great for us.

You can't go wrong with either.

One other thought. BWV does have a reduced point requirement for certain room views. I don't remember the details but others here probably will mention it.

I have to say that not everyone who prefers BCV has SAB as a big reason. I much prefer BCV to BWV, yet I don't swim so I could care less about SAB. LIFERBABE described it perfectly-the commons areas, the beach theming, and the closer parking. I love taking the elevator down, the doors open, and you see a beautiful peaceful lobby. At BWV, when those doors open, there's too much hub-bub/frenzy for me. And as a transplanted New Englander, I love the beachy, Cape Cod type theme at the BCV, complete with the sand under my toes when I walk on the beach area out front (or is it back? the side by Epcot, anyways)

We own at BCVs and just took our first trip "home" and loved it! But, I still dislike the room decor as a whole. That was a concern of mine when we were chosing our home resort. Liked the decor in the BWVs better. Odd thing to focus on, perhaps, but...

The bedspread in the Master didn't appeal to me in person anymore than it did in the photos - some had suggested it was better in person. The colors were very Feng Sui (probably spelling that wrong). I must admit, they did feel just right - just didn't look right. Maybe it was the pattern they chose. And the bedspreads in the second bedroom (same decor as a Studio) wasn't much better - a little too dark even. Think that room wasn't very Feng Sui. Anyway...

The Living Room and kitchen were OK though. Didn't think the couch was ugly at all. And I liked that the wood was lighter in color. Thought I was an oak girl, but the lighter wood worked best with the overall theming of the resort. It felt so light and airy

Anyway, that is really the only thing I didn't like. The walks weren't nearly what people made out - were actually quite pleasant. The overall feel was so pleasant. The ammenities were great - Cape May Clam Bake was excellent. But I go on. The trip report will fill in the rest.

I think the resort is very beautiful and relaxing. But, it doesn't remind me of Cape Cod at all.

ITA. Yet YC resort reminds me alot of a NE yacht club.


Now maybe if they allowed non-DVCers to use the secret tunnel to SAB.... Are non-DVCers allowed to buy the tunnel permits?

we just hate it there BCV has the best pool, Bcv has epcot in its own back yard ( one of our favorite parks) It has the BWV right across the way for shopping & more dining options, BCV has a great seafood buffet Cape Mays, Bcv has Beaches & Cream ( love their ice cream) , BCv is walking distance to the Yatch club steakhouse, walking distance to the swan & dolphin is which dvc gets 20% off food. a short boat ride to MGM (another one of our favorit parks), you can see epcots fireworks without standing in epcot, i am sure there are more reasons that i am missing.... we just hate it there and the BCV is the first resort that we will stay, besides we own there and that is our "home" resort

I own at the BC ..but...its not why I purchased there...

I live @ the beach @ the Jersey shore..so..I have 365 day access to the beach, (real) boardwalk and my boat in the backyard!! BC & BW themes were no big whoop for me. And...I do hate "sand in my bathingsuit"!

I bought because of "location"!!

Being retired, looking forward, my thought was the convenience to 2 theme parks and, should a scooter ever be necessary, easy transportation.
A guest who frequently travels with me has MS and is mobility challenged. It has been very convenient having a scooter delivered to the resort..and me running after her to EPCOT & MGM.

If the BC & BW were not attached to a theme park...I would have tried for OKW..larger rooms, park in front of the unit, golf..golf..golf!!

We have an 80 point add on at BCV, but only because that was the only place available when we wanted to add (the first time...). We stayed there once and were sick the whole time! We couldn't believe how many points we used in comparison to OKW, and for less space -- substantially less space.

So don't worry, our point allotment at BCV will always be available to someone without points there. We'll stay at OKW, thank you!

We've stayed at BCV twice, once in a one-bedroom and once in a studio. The one bedroom was very nice, although the view left something to be desired.....however, we were on the first floor, so that compromises the view a bit. The studio was not so great.....it shared a wall with the elevator and was extremely noisy. The rooms are beautifully decorated, but feel somewhat, to me, like too much of an add-on. And we had a not-so-pleasant conversation with one of the sales agents. When we were touring the sample room, we told her we were already long-time DVC members at OKW. She sort of rolled her eyes and said something to the effect of "you really can't compare OKW to this....". Since I adore OKW, I was insulted to say the least. I don't think it is necessary to tear something down in order to build something else up. I have to admit that has colored my opinion of BCV ever since. If I had been inclined to purchase add-on points, I changed my mind then and there.

We stayed in a studio last year that needed some serious cleaning. After 3 attempts to have BCV housekeeping come and clean it(which they never really did), I left not caring if we ever stayed at BCV again. DH wants to avoid all the Epcot resorts for fear that this is the housekeeping situation for all in the area. (I've got one night booked at BWV after our cruise in Sept) We'll see if things are any better. We liked SAB, but my kids did not like the sandy bottom as they are not great swimmers, and the sand bottom left them feeling like they couldn't walk around for fear of sinking. We spent most of our time at the kids slide area, that is not sand bottom. We enjoyed our cape may breakfast, and the location of the self parking for the DVC units. I wouldn't say that we'll never stay there again, but it will probably be a "long" time before we try out BCV again. DH and I both stated several times during that stay that we were glad that we didn't own points at BCV, because of the many areas (our room, hallways, elevator) that appeared to be worn for such a new facility. The common areas shared with BC didn't appear that way, so we could only come to the conclusion that BCV (at least at that time) were having some serious maintenance issues. I can only hope for all the DVC owners that they have worked some of these issues out. I've read enough reports from other diser's that had some of the same issues we did, so I know that ours was not an isolated incident. In all fairness I read just as many "glowing" room reports from BCV, so hopefully if you choose BCV you won't ever have any of these problems.

Not hating it, but not thrilled with it either. I love OKW and have found a few ways to make BCV stays more fun for me--my kids love the pool, and I do love the walk to Epcot! I park right in the DVC lot and walk around to check in. I don't plan on the staff being friendly or inviting and if they are I am pleasantly surprised. I don't use bell services or valet parking at all--never had a pleasant experience. I have found this to enhance my experience greatly. I am taking a break from it this year and will try it again in 2006.
To sum it up: I do love the location, love the pool, not impressed with the staff.

Let me first say that we have only stayed at the BC hotel part, not the villas. We love the BC but we also love the BWI. When we decided to buy DVC, an Epcot resort was the only choice for us (mostly because DH refused to buy anywhere else)!
We decided that while SAB was nice, a pool is a pool for us. So, we looked into other areas. We like the decor/themeing of the BW lobby better (it's stunning at Christmas). Also it seems like the BWV are the main part of the resort, not an add on. We liked being able to get boardwalk view when we want it, or save some points and get standard view. The views at BCV just don't seem anywhere near as nice. As far as the dining options go, we really consider the Epcot resorts as one huge complex. It's always very easy to eat at ANY of them no matter which one you stay at. So, dining was not a consideration for us. For us, it came down to the views/point charts and themeing. We decided to buy BWV. That being said, if contracts with the points we needed had only been available at BCV when we were ready to buy, we probably would would have bought there and been very happy. We just love the Epcot resort area-as you can tell from my post! You really can't go wrong with either of them!

The close proximity to Epcot, MGM and miniature golf. As well as SAB and B&C make this one of the best places at WDW! I also love the atmosphere. Annmarie

Let's not forget the sandy beach where you can watch the boats and BWV while sipping a pina colada. BCV is absolutely my favorite of all the resorts.

Besides the beach, one of the other things I like best is the location to EPCOT and the feeling you are in the middle of it all and yet, when you go to your villas it is quiet and peaceful. You feel like you can recharge your batteries. The quiet pool is very relaxing...and close to the room with the convenience of the elevator locations. Yes, very nice.

BCV is the only DVC we've stayed at so far. I don't know if I was just expecting too much because of all the hype or what, but I came home feeling like it just wasn't my cup of tea. I agree that the location is great but I hated the loooooong walk to our room (which was almost to the very end of the hallway) and I was underwhelmed with SAB. It could be that I will feel differently after staying at other DVC resorts and will have a different opinion about BCV. Of course it won't matter, as Beca will never let me stay there again after I have blasphemed her favorite resort.
