Is there anyone here with a "creative personality" stuck in a rigid work environment?

I am a "creative personality" I have the temperment of an actor, singer or artist but stuck (at least for the time being) in a very formal strait laced work envirnment and job. While my co-workers are concerned if the DEBITS and CREDITS line up and consider a laugh at the office unprofessional, I sit in my cubicle miserable! I want to think "outside the box." I swear most of my co-workers have not had a silly or creative thought since 1962! I would rather spend my work days with slightly crazy creative people like myself.

Are you NOT that great with details, organization and having your suit perfectly pressed? Are you tired of always acting formal and reserved, watching every word you speak for political correctness? Are you play acting a role at work to gather "RESPECT" around the office, trying to act and be like someone your not?

WELL THEN YOU MAY BE A CREATIVE PERSONALITY!

How do you survive in the strait laced work world, until that ARTIST job opens up?

Well, I'm not an artist but I do think I have the "creative personality." But I have always been stuck in corporate jobs. Fortunately, I have stayed away or gotten out of jobs where the atmosphere is "stuffy." I cannot survive there.

So, while I sit here in my cubicle trying to get the debits and credits to add up, I'm also constantly making wacky remarks to my co-workers and doing goofy things. At the age of 40, I don't really care what they think. And, my sense of humor and "unstuffiness" has actually helped me survive better in my field and with my customers that I support than the "suit" types. Weird, huh?
