Is there any WDW attraction that makes you...

This last time, we walked through One Man's Dream and watched the video. I got real chocked up in there. Sometimes its easy to forget all of Disney is the result of one man's dream. Walt. :littleangel:

I too get choked up everytime I see that video. In fact, anytime I watch any sort of documentary about Walter Disney I get choked up (even when I am sitting at home watching).

I also get a little emontional during Wishes and Illuminations, there is just something about the music and for Wishes everytime I hear the little girl's singing voice at the very beginning, that is when I am done for (my DH gets chills hearing the little girl's voice too).

The last time I went to Disney was three years ago, I was 21 at the time. I went with one of my best friends, and our moms came for the first week we were there.

Previous to that the last time I had been to Disney was 10 years previous in 1998.

Our first day at the parks we made it in time for rope drop at Magic Kingdom. I was so excited to be back I started to cry and they were all looking at me like uhhh whats wrong? :lmao:

First of all-

You guys are such bleeding hearts, it's absolutely disgusting:lmao:

Personally, the only time I had a little inkling was the first time that I saw Illuminations. It kinda makes you want to join hands with the person next to you and sing "We Are The World." I mean, it reminds you of an opening ceremony of the Olympics!

The only really, truly dripping sentimentality is Star Tours. Stupid, right? But that was the very first ride that my sons ever rode at Disney World. They were so young (6 and 7 years old), that I didn't even know that they would even like Disney. Maybe it would be too scary.

Plus, as a father, we went through some real financial difficulties before. And ever since I saw that movie "National Lampoon's Vacation", I wanted to grow up, have kids and take them on cool vacations... including Disney World.

Well, they were yelling, screaming and having such a great time on Star Tours that I knew that they were going to enjoy WDW. That's when we, as a family, became 'Disney-folk.'

(By the way, I still can't watch that 'National Lampoon's Vacation' movie around this time. I would like to take that drive down to Florida and hit it. Wally-World!!!)

cry?

This can include parades, fireworks, rides, shows, even resorts or restaurants.

Great thread!

I cry at the end of Illuminations every time! When the globe opens up to the flame of life, while the song "We Go On" is playing... I just lose it!!

I also cry during Beauty and the Beast Live On Stage (at the end), and depending on my mood, sometimes during The Festival of the Lion King (the ending again). The songs "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Circle of Life" are just beautiful!

I've also cried at Walt: One Man's Dream, the American Adventure, and of course, on our last night there, looking back at the Castle one last time before it goes out of sight behind the Main Street Builidings...

I always tear up at the very end of Soarin when you fly over Disneyland. I love that place as it was the first Disney park I every visited and I have no idea why everytime my eyes water with that scene. Of course Wishes always makes me cry no matter how many times I watch it.

The two you mention also choke me up! As soon as we swoop over London, I'm a goner . . .

I also get a bit misty during Spaceship Earth. It is the one ride I remember the most vividly from childhood, so perhaps it's nostalgia . . . or just the scent of Rome on fire!

Spaceship earth has that weird effect on me too like you its one that I have most memory of as a child.

The carousel in MK because my its my mums favourite ride and reminds me of the holidays we used to go on as a family.

Wishes always gets me when the first starlight starbright i'm off

Always, always ALWAYS! at the opening music of Main Street Electrical Parade. Even if it's just playing in the car. :)

Not a ride or a show but the look on my kids faces when they met their favourite characters - it is such a unique special moment it has my eyes filling up every time I think about it

And like some others have said - the advert of the parents telling the kids they are going to Disney - gets me everytime

"One Man's Dream" gets me every single time. As soon as the song towards the end starts and they start showing random clips of Walt I'm done. Just hearing the music to "When You Wish Upon a Star" gets the eyes welling up.

I'm a softie myself and I cry at silly things at WDW. I cried the first time we were there when I stood at RD at the MK with my DD3 and they started playing Zipadee Do Dah. I still get a little misty eyed when we watch the video from that trip and I hear my young mother voice say "Meggie, where are you?" and she responds with an incredulous tone "I'm right here!" and you can hear the Epcot music in the background.

We took a very late flight in for a Christmas trip a few years ago and I started sobbing at the check in desk at the AKL when they said welcome home and showed me that our room was EXACTLY where I'd hoped it would be...just perfection.

I was sitting on a wall waiting for the parade at AK with my kids and as it started Baloo saw me and came running over and hugs me hard. Tears come again. I know it's silly but I did all of the planning and felt like I was the one who was making the trip happen for the rest of them and it was almost like I got a big hug from Disney that acknowledged my efforts. Silly, right?

And the most bizarre -- on our last trip I had my nephew with us who is 18 and has auditory processing disorder and Aspbergers. He's desparately shy. I was chatting with a veterinary nurse outside of the operatory suite at conservation station in AK and I mentioned his dream is to become a veternarian. She smiled and told us to meet her in 10 minutes when her shift ended and she took us back into the operatory areas for a quick backstage tour. What magic! And even more magic...my DN who has so much trouble conversing with strangers engaged in conversation with her and asked her about internship programs. So I'm tearing up over a conversation about..go ahead and laugh...vascectomizing elephants. :rotfl2:

I cry during Wishes like no other. When the characters all state their wishes, (ex: Cinderella:I wish I could go to the ball!) and when Jiminey announces the Blue Fairy - gets me EVERY time!

OH MY GOODNESS - I'm not the only one??? I just went on YouTube to watch Wishes the other day and cried like a little kid...LOL I don't know what it is - but it gets me everytime.

[I can't make it down Main Street the first day of our trip without getting misty...]

I am a big baby when it comes to Disney! I cry during the festival of the lion king at the part when they are singing can you feel the love tonight. Wishes definitely gets me emotional. The finale of wishes really gets to me. And of course, check out! Then when your driving under the arch to saldy go home and you see the big sign that says see you real soon :sad1:

I cry when I see the main gate! LOL I cry when I pull up in front of the resort Im staying at, I cry when I see the castle for the first time! I cry when I watch Wishes and hear the little girls sing "all my wishes will come true" and last Sept I cried when we left our room at the Poly...

Been going to WDW since I was 4 and for me and my teens it really is the Happiest Place on Earth where we can all use our imagination, feel like we are kids again and hug a huge mouse without ridicule! Its also one of the most romantic places to be! I spent my honeymoon, 1st, 2nd and will spend 3rd anniversary at WDW. I almost vacation no wehere else..lol

My three misty eyed moments are always:

When the characters arrive on the train at MK during rope drop ceremonies.

Peter Pan's Flight - flying over the city

In Hall of Presidents - just as they open the curtain to reveal the presidents.

And my all-time misty-eye moment..... is getting on the ME bus to go home. :sad2:

Although you will not believe this after you see my list, I am not an emotional person at all. I am not a crier in real life and rarely shed tears. Most of my friends acuse me of having a cold heart, but as I have aged I am getting a little more sappy. But at Disney I cry:

on our first day walking down Main Street as soon as I see the Castle
at the Welcome show at MK when the train comes into view
during Wishes, pretty much almost the whole time
when our DS at 3 first rode Dumbo (and when I look at the picture sometimes)
at the American Adventure show when they are singing the song and showing the video, the 9/11 flag gets me every time.
at the end of Soarin when the fireworks are going off over DL castle
during Fantasmic when Mickey is up on the mountain and has beat the Villians
at Festival of the Lion King when they first sing can you feel the love tonight and during the finale
and the day before we leave when I open the door and the DME packet is hanging there.

Ohh, I forgot about that one! I cry here, too.

I must admit I am sappy in real life. Stuffing Kleenex into my 3D glasses during Toy Story 3 was quite an experience. :)

Then I'm a sap too. Even my DS16 got a little misty at the end of TS3. I crossed the "little misty" line though. I looked like Tammy Faye Baker
