Hi all, my DH and I are conflicted. He seems to think he remembered a program to "pre-pay" for a week long or longer stroller use that was significantly cheaper than renting daily. We are going in Oct. for 10 days and I have a 4 & 8 year old. It seems that my kids would not need a stroller, and they don't, but it sure did come in handy when we had "on the go" snacks, or a long wait.
Anyway, IS there such a program as a week long rental, and what is the cost?? thanks!

I read somewhere, that you can rent strollers for your length of stay with a 10% discount. Not sure though, if you do this ahead of time or at the rental counter....Would love to know, since we are going with a 7, 5 and 3 yr old. :confused3

Hey look here for the freebie stroller. They have one that gets passed along you just need to meet up with someone twice during your stay to get it and then pass it along. It is a single though I believe. The post is right on this board. But you can rent the double strollers at Disney and get a cheaper rate for 1 week

Our first trip to Disney our kids were 4 and 7 or something close to that. I had sold all our strollers and baby gear. I had read that bringing your own comfortable one was better so I bought a gently used older corduroy one for $8 at a rummage sale for the trip. It was the best thing I ever did. It had a sun shade and small basket underneath, nothing fancy. I intended to carry it on the plane with me (as I had seen others do). My DH, not knowing that was the plan, checked it through without any case or protection. It arrived slightly mangled, but that was o.k. We tied one side of the sunshade on with a shoestring and it worked fine, plus it was easy to spot because it was an older model, nothing like it anywhere around, and NO ONE would have wanted to steal it seeing as how the sunshade was tied on with a shoestring. We gave it away to another family when we left the parks. Our kids were small and even at 7 and 8 there were times during the day our son would take a turn just sitting in the shade of the stroller and resting. It was a lifesaver and looked so much more comfortable than the ones you could rent. Cheaper than renting one for a week.

You can buy any amount of days with a 10% disscount at the beginning of your vacation.. and you can cash any unused ones back in.

Its worth it without the discount as you dont have to stand in that long line waiting!!

We always prepay stroller rental for the number of days we plan on being in the parks. Our kids are 6 and 4 and while they would be fine without a stroller, having one makes them less tired and crabby by the end of the day. It's also nice to have a place to hang my messenger bag with our daily supplies instead of having to carry it constantly. IMO stroller rental is worth every bit of the money we pay!

many years ago when our daughter was little we did not bring stroller with us as we only had a large pram.
we had a car so we went to walmart and bought a cheap umbrella stroller for very little money, I think around 10.00.
at the end of the vacation we gave it away.

We had to make a Target stop during our last trip (Love that Target) and they had this HUGE disney section and even a Disney stroller for around $35.00. It was better than an umbrella stroller and extremely light. We did not need it but, I thought it might not be a bad idea for next time.

When you figure how much you spend on renting on it is probably better to just by one, even if you can't take it home with you. You can leave it behind or just give it to someone who may need to rent one.

Thank you oh wise dis'ers for your input, it has been very helpful! We bought a very nice stroller at a garage sale for $5, am considering taking it (maybe not) It just seems easier to get the double stroller daily so both can sit in it if they want to. If I do decide to get the 10% discount stroller, where can this be done? All the parks? thanks!! ::yes::
