Is there any way to find out how many days left on hopper pass?

A friend of mine asked me to help her plan a trip to WDW and Universal Studios for the end of Oct. Her family was to WDW 3 years ago and they have a day or 2 and some plus options left on their hopper tickets from then but she's not sure of exactly what is left. I gave her the main Disney # (407-W DISNEY) to call and the person she talked to told her there was no way to tell her how many days she'd have left until she got to one of the parks. Is this true or is there a different # she can call where she could read them the number from the back of their tickets and they could check the remaining days in their computer. She'd realy like to definitely know how many days she has left before she gets there so that she can plan (she doesn't want to buy any new tickets, just wants to use up what she has and then go to Universal, she is trying to keep this trip as economical as possible).

The only way to know is to have the tickets scanned at guest services at the park. Disney does this to limit the resale of partially used hoppers.

Aubrey,
They can also have them scanned at their resort, if they are staying onsite and at Guest Services at DD.

I'm sorry, Gail. You are very right. But they still must do thier trip planning without knowing for sure what's left on the tickets. Unless of course they trust them to a friend who is going sooner and is willing to have them scanned in advance.

Nothing to be sorry for Aubrey!!! :) Just adding a little more info for everyone. :)

Thanks Aubrey and Gail. I guess it does make sense to do this to prevent resale. I told my friend to pull out her picture album from their trip and see if that would help her remeber how many days they used and she said she'd give it a try. Thanks again for the responses!

It's not just a matter of Disney being difficult. The pass days are not stored on the pass at all. They are stored in the WDW database system, and the card just provides an access code. For this reason the number of remaining days can only be determined at a location that has access to the WDW database. You can't blame Disney for only allowing such access at their parks and resorts.

While in principle they could probably check using the number on the back of the card, it's not in their interest to do that. They would find themselves handling a large number of such requests, every phone at the WDW phone banks would have to have a card scanner next to it, and most of the calls would be checking on resold cards rather than legitimately purchased ones.
