Is there ANY way around the no refund/no downgrade policy?

If there's not, there's not, but I wish I hadn't gotten such a rude, unpleasant person on the phone after holding for 1.5 hours 3 times (': . She was Very Not Magical.

My grandma just passed away and I am out of work for this month and have high funeral travel expenses so we weren't able to go on the day we planned with tier 2 park hopper tickets. I really can't afford to upgrade them (and I don't live in Anaheim to go to the ticket booth to upgrade a ticket, make a reservation for several weeks out, and then come back again for that date?!), and having that money just sitting in tickets I can't use until some time after september doesn't do me any good since I may not be able to get the time off of work when I go back.

I am in a very large pickle y'all, am I just SOL? I saw someone on here a while back happened to get a very nice person on the phone who let them downgrade to non park hopper, but this was before the reservation system was in place...

Please tell me there's some form of special loophole? I'm so stressed :(

I'm sorry I can't answer your question but just want to say I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandmother.
 :sad1:

I hope you soon get the help you're looking for.

If I'm reading this correctly, and it's about disneyland tickets, you'll get a much quicker answer on the disneyland board. They are quite versed about things there.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I agree with PP -- the folks on the Disneyland forum will have quicker responses as most here are more familiar with Disney World.

If it's any help, I believe unused tickets will continue to hold their value indefinitely to be used as a credit towards future tickets. I know that doesn't help if there is an immediate financial need, but worst case it isn't lost.

Sorry for your loss. Try calling again. I know it is so hard to lose a grandmother and then to have other stress too. It will all work out.
