Is there any restaurant that does something special for a child's birthday?

My granddaughter will celebrate her 10th birthday at WDW. Are there any restaurants that do something special for a child's birthday? I would like to make it a "MAGICAL" birthday for her.

If you really want something magical, the best advice is to plan it yourself so you know it will happen.

There are lots of fun restaurants to celebrate a birthday but none guarantee they will acknowledge a celebration whether it is a birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, etc.

Agreed, especially because the button situation at WDW is out of control. I'd guess that 40-50% of guests are wearing birthday buttons, anniversary buttons, or it is my first trip buttons.

chef mickey's usually gives a placemat with the character signatures. crystal palace gives a card signed by the characters and has parades.

Crystal Palace also gave my son (who was wearing his birthday button-- we didn't make a request) a cupcake with breakfast. We've also arranged for cakes at various restaurants, and they've made a nice fuss.

Go to Coral Reef.

Call ahead (ask for the # when you make ADR) and ask for a diver to come down with a Happy Birthday ________ sign. We also purchased a cake there (it was very good but 10" is HUGE! We gave it to the kitchen staff as we only had 3 slices out of it). They made a huge fuss! Great birthday celebration!

in addition to the diver, you can also arrange for a personalized menu at coral reef. both at no charge.

1900 Park Fair also gives an autographed placemat and they brought DD9 a bithday cupcake and sang to her. LTT also gave her a cupcake and sang (and had the whole dining room clapping along). Make sure you tell the CM when you make your ADR that you are celebrating her birthday - they'll ask for her name. Also, tell the hotel to note it on your reservation - SSR delivered a balloon bouquet along with a card from Mickey & Minnie (they asked at check-in what her favorite character was.) Also, maybe you could make her an appt at BBB - my girls loved being pampered - especially the birthday girl - she even got a special sash that said "Birthday Princess."
