Is there any real difference between June and August?

We are considering an August trip with the free dining offer. We are park veterans, but have never been in August. We have been in mid-June and it seemed to be pretty darn hot. As I recall the crowds were not too bad in June. Tell me about mid/late-August vs. mid-June.

Are the crowds comparable? (I see touring plans site gives crowds a 7 for my dates)

Is the weather noticeably hotter?

I think crowds are comparable, but IME I'd not go in August if you paid me. Too humid - much hotter than in June.

I've been in mid june and mid august. I think the croweds were worse in Aug, and people seem to be more short tempered, in general. Much hotter.

One day I was standing in line (in the sun) and I thought what the heck is running down the back of my legs!. Sweat was just pouring off my back and legs.
