Hi There!

I apologize if this has been posted before.

I just received a new IPOD touch for my birthday and I was wondering if there are any cool Disney apps we can use while we are in the parks next week.

Thanks ahead of time!

I believe there is one that can be found on the iTunes store.

Disney World Wait Times provides up-to-the-minute standby and fastpass distribution return times for every attraction and restaurant at Walt Disney World, across all six parks.

Just search "Disney". I have 13 of 'em, but I haven't really explored them all. As long as it said Disney or WDW, I downloaded it, LOL.

PS - there's also an app for DIS. Don't forget to get that one! :thumbsup2

Just remember though that if an app requires Wifi, it won't work while you're actually in the parks. I just got an ipod touch for my birthday too and I'm using it for my upcoming trip. I put in all my reservations and confirmation numbers, I put in picture of all the maps, and I have a "Days Until" app that counts down the days until my trip. It's great!

You will not have WiFi in the parks so some of the apps that you can find will be useless in the park.

What's this app called? I searched "disney world" and couldn't pick it out.

It's not a WDW app in particular, but I like TripIt. You can create itineraries online and view them on your iPhone. Once your itinerary is downloaded to your phone/iPod touch, you don't need an internet connection.

You know...I can't remember how I ended up getting it, but somehow I ended up with an app called "The DIS". Yet when I searched for Disboards in the App Store, nothing turned up. Strange.

Nevermind...figured it out. Google "Disboards"...then when the site is found, tap on the "+" (plus sign) on the bottom of your screen and it gives you the option to Add Bookmark and/or Add to Home Screen. That should work.

I hope.

This simply adds a favorite to any web site. It's not an app. When you add it to the home screen, the OS creates a button that will launch Safari and take you right to the page.

BTW, while it is true that you need WiFi to use some apps, don't forget that those of you using an iPhone can use the cellular network in the parks.

Oh ok, you have a weblink saved as a button on your homescreen. Makes sense now.

Sorry for the confusion. In my own little world, I use 'app' as a generic term for all the button thingys on my home screen, LOL.

And I'm bummed that without WiFi in the parks, I won't be able to access a bunch of stuff on my iTouch, but such is life.
