Go figure! Yesterday my throat felt a little scratchy, then by bedtime my ears were hurting. This morning I woke up and my head is killing me! :faint: I don't even feel like moving. I feel like my head is going to explode. My 4 year old had a cold earlier this week and so did my nephew, so apparently they were kind enough to share it with me.

We leave for WDW tomorrow morning at 8:30AM. Hopefully I got one of those 24 hour colds! :rotfl:

This sucks. Oh well I guess better me than one of the kids right?

Try Zycam Cold Remedy. It may not cure you but my husband used it and thought it helped him a great deal. I think it's supposed to cut the time of the cold in half.
If I remember correctly, it was a Qtip that you dip into the med and then swab the inside of your nose...pretty easy and it really did seem to work!
I also swear by airborne!!

Hope that helps!! Have fun!

Zycam is amazing !!! It won't cure you but it will make you symptoms much more tollerable. It's worth every penny! My scepticle DH even thinks so.

Musinex will also help thin out the fluids and get things flowing. I have been dealing with sinus stuff and it is helping more then anything.

And get lots of Vit C right now. Drink that OJ!

LOTS of vitamin C! It works wonders! You have to take at the first sign of a cold though or it won't work. I usually take 1,000 mg twice a day when I feel a cold coming on. Of course I have one now that I didn't take vit. c for and it's draining. Feel better soon!!

Here's what our doctor recommends: drink lots of fluids to help keep mucous moist, get as much rest as possible, take Mucinex for chest congestion, take Sudafed (or generic) for nasal congestion, and take Tylenol for any pain (incl. throat pain, headache, etc..).

Mucinex is a 12 hour pill and generic psuedephedrine is also available (from Target or Walmart at the pharmacy) in a 12 hour version, which will be easier when traveling... just take one at night and one in the morning.

Don't forget to take enough meds in case others in the family get the cold from you. I always take a full complement of adult and children's cold meds on vacation with us.

I hope you're feeling better soon!

Just be careful of Sudafed. Everyone has different reactions, but if I take that stuff after about 6 AM I cannot sleep at night. I have the jitters like I've had a ton of coffee :)

Hope you feel better and you'll have a blast even with a cold!

This is a funny one but it worked for me, my sister and my boss.
Get Vicks vapor rub and rub it on your feet and put a pair for socks on right before you go to bed. I swear this works!!! When you wake up you will feel so much better. :confused3 Don't know why this works but it does. One of my "older" patients told me to do the Vicks thing. She has done this since she was little. She never takes any cold meds.

Hope you get better !!! ::yes::

My nursing instructor, swares by Vitamin C and Zinc. She said take 1000 mg of Vitamin C twice a day, and 500 mg of Zinc, at the first sign of a cold. It's worked for me ever since. You will begin to feel better almost instantly. Lots of water too.

When we were at Disney the other week, my Dad starting to get a cold, he took the liquid Zicam and it went away really quick! I started getting a cold too (coughing, scratchy throat, feeling yucky) so I sent my husband out to buy me some too. I felt good enough to go to the parks all day! And the cold never got bad. I bought the daytime liquid. It claims to be virtually tasteless, but it is NASTY! But, it's worth it, because it works!

I hope you feel better real soon!

Zicam works well, but for some reason it makes my husband feel sick to his stomach? He says he'd rather deal with the cold.
:confused3

That is a new way for Vicks vapor rub! I will have to remember that. I get alot of colds for some reason and I normally just let it take it path. I am not a big pill popping type of person, so I will try this.

I always take Echinacea, it definitely seems to reduce the length of time that I have a cold.

Hope you feel better soon.
