Is there an official February 2016 thread? I searched for one and could not find it.

As far as a February Check-In thread (for people to give their trip dates and hotels and plan meet-ups), I don't think there is one. That's 6 months away, so I doubt anyone has started it yet. Or if there is one it has slipped past me. Sometimes we don't think there is a thread for a certain month, and then a thread pops up that was started weeks earlier. Did you try doing a search of the word February in the thread titles (the search feature is in the upper right of the page)?

Thanks, Sherry! I did search it. I found the 2016 thread but nothing specific to February 2016. We went Feb 2015 and I swear the thread was created like a year in advance, LOL!!

We can, but if you want to create it, please do -- go right ahead! I am glad you asked, though -- just in case. Sometimes -- though not always -- people may approach us behind the scenes about starting certain threads, such as the month/check-in threads and others, just so they can be lined up in advance to do it and sort of 'lock in' their spot. That didn't happen in this case -- no one asked us about February -- but I would have hated to have someone lined up to do it, only to see another thread pop up! The coast is clear on February, though!

We're staying at the Red Lion at Harbor & Katella. We've stayed there three times prior, so it's kind of our "go-to".

I am hoping to go in February, too! Or possibly the very end of January. I'm a little nervous, though - I almost always go in the summer, and although I've read quite a bit about going in the winter, I still don't know quite what to expect. What are the good things about going in February? Why have you chosen February?

Sorcerer Jody: I have only been in the Summer one time (when I was 11! So I don't have the best opinion on it currently, but I do remember it vividly). I know a lot of people love it! I have done research and talked to close family who have gone in July. For my family and I it isn't the best option due to the heat and crowds. I like to go in mid to late-February after President's day because it is the ideal time for my family. The crowds are better (in my opinion) and the weather is better for me. It's cool in the mornings and evenings and gets hot during the day. I absolutely cannot stand the heat! And I am not a patient person, I can't do high crowd volumes. Occasionally it will rain on a day here or there but we come from Oregon so that doesn't bother us LOL! They do tend to schedule their refurbishments during this time, which is a bummer, but later in Feb is a bit better. Usually it's not the end of the world but 2015 was ridiculous because they were getting ready for the anniversary celebrations so a ton of stuff was closed. So many closures made the crowds feel bigger to me, even though they weren't, but I still preferred it over Summer. I expect some rides to be down in 2016 but am hoping it's not as bad as 2015. Everything feels less crowded from the buses to the restaurants, etc. It's just much, much better for us. Good luck in your planning! Can't wait to hear about it!

I concur with pretty much everything that momsmail mentioned about visiting in February.

We go to celebrate our anniversary and the weather is normally pretty nice that time of year (the end of February). We know there will be crowds, but we don't want to be packed in there like sardines (which happened to us during our Christmas-time trip last year)!

Oh and I have gone during President's Day weekend (2013) and it was a ghost town. Things change and I doubt it would ever be that way again, so I am always scared to go again during the holiday weekend, which is why I book after. lol. Last trip, Feb 2015, because of so many ride closures (in prep for the anniversary) it felt so crowded because everyone couldn't spread out as much. If that is any indication of what Summer is like, I think I will stick to February LOL!!!! Just my personal feeling. It was still super duper fun though - I will take Disney any way I can get it. And my Disney Grinch husband wants to go back so win-win.
