Is there an alternate way to make FP reservations?

I've been here for several days and am so aggravated with the non-functionality of the app and online FP booking system - I have literally wasted hours trying to make or change FP reservations only to have "errors" pop up in the system.

This has dramatically affected my trip and I will be letting Disney know that until they fix this crap they put out, I won't be back. I did not pay thousands of dollars to have my vacation ruined by Disney's garbage system.
 
Sorry you're having such a tough time, that stinks. FWIW your attitude sounds like it's really bad. IMO, don't let a system glitch ruin your vacation, but that's just me. Not trying to sound harsh, just suggesting to roll with the punches and make the best of it. Been there, done that with the FP+ system...sometimes it has issues.

You can call Disney for reservations, but that can take time too.

Generally have not had much success with calling to make FPs. The last time the system went down, the wait was 60-90 minutes. When somebody did talk to a person at Disney, they were told to keep trying the app or online.
It can be frustrating, but keep trying.
Lately, when I've gone online to modify FPs, it seems to be working most times.
 

It’s tough but don’t let it get you down. You can always use the kiosks or instead of the app, open the full website in a browser and log into MDE via the WDW website, see if that works any better for you.

I agree that a company that has determined the guests not only need to preplan much in advance, but also has created a system that depends on not only good Wi-Fi connections, but a strong IT infrastructure should be fully committed to get that system to work. With that said, I never rely on additional FP, etc to make or break our family vacation. For us that would have expectations that were just begging to be upset.

I would let Disney know that their system had been a let down, but I would try to move on from the disappointments for now.
 
A guest who has spent thousands of dollars on a vacation is allowed to be angry that a multibillion-dollar corporation has a completely crap IT system that does have the potential to ruin a trip.

You're welcome to your Disney hate, doesn't mean that I have to buy into it. I don't think they have a "completely crap" IT system, frankly considering the complexity, size, sheer usage, etc...of it I think it's rather impressive. But that's my own opinion, you obviously have yours. I spend thousands of dollars too at WDW, I don't even want to think about how much money we've spent over the past 4 years. During that time, we've been fortunate enough to spend a ton of time in the parks, so we've encountered MDE issues. That includes just a few months ago when the system went bonkers for a few days because of the upgrade around bus schedules. It made the FP+ system act Goofy (pun intended) for 3 days or so. However, if you let it "ruin" a trip is entirely up to you. YMMV.

Not everyone has the luxury of going on multiple trips a year or even trips longer than "3 days or so" so an IT issue like this can dramatically affect a trip and what they are able to do. It may not "ruin" a trip, but it is more than enough to be angry and debate spending more money on what they believe can be a broken system.

Personally, I would still return, but don't fault those who don't want to spend the money again in the future.
 
Try the kiosks when you want to make a change! I would also try your browser on your phone if you haven't already. Good luck.
