Is there a way to walk from epcot to studios

Yes there is! Go out the International Gateway exit, go past the Boardwalk, and follow the walkway. About 20 minutes if you are a fast walker, 30+ if you walk slowly. Or you can take the boat over. Walking is usually faster and sweatier!

Yes, you would go through the international gate way. Go through the Boardwalk and then walk down the path there to MGM. It is about a 30 minute walk.

Just one more note there is no shade on this walk. I love the walk in the morning, in the evening or on a cloudy day. But at the hottest point on a sunny day it is really warm. I would take the boat then.

Ditto.

There is no shade and it is great for awhile but after about 10 mins it gets unbearable and there is nowhere to go but back 10 mins or forward 10 mins in the sun. We did it in Feb. and it was very hot. Not a chance that we'll do it in July! Find a different way to go. Unless it is really cool, don't chance it.

I'll be a little more specific because if you really want to walk it, it can get a bit confusing.

The Int'l Gateway is just after the UK in World Showcase. You 'll go out the gates and there will be a boat launch on your left. (This is the other option, which may take a bit longer, but would be worth it in my opinion. If you're just walking to the BW, walking is much faster.) You'll walk up a small hill and take a left over a bridge. That path leads to BW, the other one leads to the BC/YC. You'll circle around the BW until you get to the hotel back entrance (there's a courtyard). We usually go on the far side of the courtyard up toward the stairs (but not up them) and take a right under the bldg. to the pool area. On the other side of the pool, you'll find a path that leads down a few stairs to the walkway to the Studios. You'll go left and walk along the water way until you get to the MGM parking lot. Maybe someone else has a faster way to get through the BW area, but that's how we've gone to BW from Epcot.

If you are in great shape and a quick walker, I can see the 20-30 minute walk happening. If you've got small children, or if you walk at a leisurely pace, then definitely take the boat. I forget the order of the stops, but the boats go to BW, BC/YC and the Swan/Dolphin.

If you take the boat, do you get off at BW and then walk to MGM, or does the boat go to MGM directly after hitting all the resorts? I actually would be going in reverse, from MGM to EPCOT. I will be going to EPCOT early Sunday to pick up voucher/fax for DDE and then meeting my family at MGM since that is our scheduled park for the day. Would like most conveniant way to do this, it would be just me, no kids, I could walk pretty quick.

The boat goes to all the Epcot resorts, Epcot Intl Gateway, and MGM.

So, wouldn't that be walking from Epcot to MGM? I'm confused.

If you take the boat, don't get off until you're at MGM. If you walk, you should be pretty quick on your own.

Yes you can walk and I will confirm that is IS a 30+ minute walk - we found that out last year.

I told DH we could walk from the Studios to Epcot and that it would only take about 10 minutes - that's probably how long the boat ride is.
Anyway we are walking and walking and walking and about 15 minutes had passed and we had no idea where we were. We asked a CM that rode by on a bike and asked if we were headed in the right direction to get to Epcot - "yep". Then we asked how much longer and she said about "20 minutes". Oops!

We'll do the walk again but now we know how long it really takes!

Hi Debbie,

Again, it all depends on how fast you walk. We have walked there in 15-20 minutes, but as I said, we're fast walkers...and we've done it many times so we know the right way to go! :)

Also, the boat will take much longer than 10 minutes...in fact it's about an 8 minute boat ride from the Studios to the Swan/Dolphin alone. There are still two more stops before you get to Epcot, plus the time you need to allow for people getting on/off the boat.

Bob

We do the pathway all the time when we're at BWV. It's about 15 minutes from there and then add another 10 from IG to BW. But, we do the walk only in the morning and in the evening. It does get hot out there and there is just nothing worse than starting your time in a park already hot/sweaty/tired!! If we're going mid-day, either way, we try to take the boat.

Sorry, don't know what I was thinking. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the question and the answers. I don't think my parents could make the walk. Mom does not do well with heat (either does my DD). They want to fit in as much of Epcot as possible on our trip. It is wonderful to know that the boat is an option for hopping.

It is a little over a mile between the two places. So depending on how fast you walk, the times can vary. There isn't much overhead cover on the path so it can seem alot farther during the heat of the day or during a thunderstorm.

The boat ride is actually longer than walking even at a leisurely pace. I have walked the path with my 7 year old daughter and beat the boat every time.
