We're planning on going to Disneyland at the beginning of August and have never used the Fast Pass System (they didn't have it last time we went).

I read that you can't just get a whole bunch of fast passes?? Is there a way to get around this? Can we buy unlimited fast passes? I'd love any advice you can give me as my husband is leary about going at this time of year.

Thanks!

Erin.

FastPass is not for sale. I believe you can get a special type of FastPass if you book through AAA.

A few things to keep in mind about FastPass.

1) In the grand scheme of the parks, very few rides have them.
2) It is not a front of the line pass. You will still have a wait, though it will be shorter
3) You can use the FP after the time window, just not before
4) At the bottom of each FP it will tell you when you can get your next one. Pay attention to those
5) Pay attention to the FP return time before you grab it. If it's 1:30 and the return time is 2:45 but the wait time is 20 minutes it's better to just get in line.

You didn't state how long you're staying. If you're staying more than a couple of days, stop and smell the churros. We used FastPass twice last year.Once for Autopia, kinda pftt,The next day for Soarin',that was worth it.Heck half of the fun is breezin with your family 'or' even strangers. :cool1: No offence but "unlimited" FastPasses would be for 'ride mongers'. But if you're really "slammed" for time that would be the way to go.imho.Either way have FUNN and be SAFE. :thumbsup2

I think the most common name for what the others are talking about is Enhanced FastPass. There is no "unlimited" FP. Read about EFP here:

You can do a lot with the regular FP. Read my FP thesis here:

Regular FP is free. EFP is something you get when you book a DLR hotel thru AA. So you cannot buy EFP, per se, but it is not free to everyone like regular FP is.

I don't think the enhanced or "unlimited" fast pass is for "ride mongers". Quite simply, it allowed us to smell those churros at many other places rather that in line for yet another ride! You are not at the mercy of the lines during your trip and you don't need to have any preplanned strategy for the most part....it allows you to go and enjoy all of Disneyland and your most favorite rides at your pace....JMO....

DEFINITELY give this a good read. Although I knew about a couple of the rides not being connected, the info. included and the way HydroGuy has written it all is excellent. You get a feel for how you can make the most of the FP System for YOU whilst you're there.
