Is there a way to do this?

Say you have a late flight in, so you only want to pay for a Value room the first night, and then change resorts for the rest of your trip. Is there a way for Disney to hold your bags and send them to the second resort? It would me a lot less hassle, but is it possible?:confused3

I have stayed at 2 resorts during one trip. When I check out of first resort they give you the option of transporting your bags for you to another Disney resort hotel. Just be aware you may not get your bags until the afternoon or later! So if you are in no rush. Check out of hotel #1,head to hotel#2 and check in then go about your day and when you get back to the hotel you will either have your bags or can call bell services to have them bring them to your room.

they likely won't actually "hold" them but most likely deliver them to your room, where you will then call for pick up and have them delivered to your second resort... just as they would with a split stay :)

Thanks, that is what I was wondering. I was hoping there was a way to skip the part where you have to give them your bags again. The less fuss, the better, you know?

We actually had a late flight in last year, and we found it easier (and cheaper!) to stay at a Hampton Inn that first night. We figured since we were only going to get there and sleep, it didn't make sense to go to our resort (plus you get free continental breakfast at the Hampton Inn!). We were up bright and early the next day, and they actually had a room available when we checked in early at POFQ.

How did you get to the Hampton Inn and then to your resort?Did you rent a car?We have to fly out at 6 in the morning and I'm not sure I want to spend the $$$ at WDW when we have to be at the airport at like 3 am.Thanks.

Hey Mom

Have you thought about staying your first night at the Hyatt right at MCO.
We did it on a trip four years ago when we had a late flight. It was great, you step off the MCO monorail and step in to your room. It was very nice, quick and quiet and we had a great buffet the next morning right there at the airport. We got the room for around $200. Check out there website. Its worth a looksee.

Also if your on the dinning plan you wont be waisting a day.

when we did a split stay, we just called and let them know we needed luggage transfer, gave them the number of bags and left our luggage in front of the window... it was all in our AKL room when we arrived there :)

I have seen the inside of the luggage area at the Boardwalk (it is big) and they will probably hold your luggage for you unless they are really busy. Just check at the front desk of both hotels (it might even be possible to have your luggage delivered to your primary resort). Call the primary resort now and just before leaving if you want to check the second possibility; and ask bell services and the front desk at check-in for the first option.

We love doing this: staying at a value for the first night and then moving. It is much better than staying off property or at one of the DTD hotels because you feel as if your vacation has already started.
