is there a supermarket near SSR

There is a Winn-Dixie about 1/2 mile from the entrance to Hotel Plaza Blvd. If you go out the Blvd, turn left & continue straight past the first light. The store is on the right hand side. There is also an ABC liquor store on the corner and a Walgreen's across the street.

:thumbsup2 Winn Dixie!
That's where we go!
Has just about everthing...including salt and pepper shakers!

I've heard the praises of Publix, but Winn Dixie seems faster and easier to get to.

We may try Publix when we are down at SKV in April...I think there is one that is more convenient on that end of the property.

We usually stop at Publix, but Winn Dixie would be just as good. Be sure to avoid Goodings unless you don't mind paying very high prices.

If you go down Hotel Blvd. and turn right, there is a Walmart Supercentre about 5-8 minutes on the right - great Disney souvenir section there as well.

My husband and I were just there and went to the Publix. It was very close and easy to get to, but we were not terribly impressed with the selection. Esp the produce - there were very limited options in terms of fresh fruit and veggies for snacks. We were surprised considering the fact that we were in Florida. The deli was good though - all Boar's Head products - and the service was very good. We had a pretty full cart and were checked out and bagged in under 10 minutes. The prices are fairly high as well. I'm in CT and I thought our grocery prices were bad. Publix was significantly higher in my opinion.

We have been to the Publix but we are going down for Disney on Nov 5th and we ordered from Green Grocer and the prices were good and the food will be there when we arrive so no one has to spend an hour at the Publix etc= I am psyched about this so I hope it works out well but other Disers love it/\.

I noticed in Jan. that our Pulbix trip seem more expensive than past trips there. We might have to try something different in Nov.

It depends on where you're coming from. While WD is technically closer if you start at OKW or SSR, it's about the same time to get to it seems due to traffic flow and set up of the red lights assuming you go around by the outlets and not up I drive. There are several other Publix depending on the route and a couple of Wal Mart's as well. All are good choices.

WINN DIXIE for us. We have the customer card and save a few bucks each time. I like the selection they have and was even shocked to find my favourite Australian red wine in stock.

Does Winn Dixie carry Boars Head deli meats?

If you go left out of SSR’s main entrance (north) and go past the WDW warehouses to the end of the road and turn right it takes you out to just below WD. I think it is a little longer but a lot faster.

We like WD. I keep their card in my Owners Locker. It doesnt take long to get there (like 10 min) and it is never busy or touristy.

WD also has excellent meat and seafood. We always buy King Crab for our holiday meal and their steaks are good too.

Prices are good, lots of sales. Close parking. Large wine section and I found Rosa Regale there on sale, so I was happy.

I thought Publix was high.

I don't think so. Publix does, WM doesn't.

Thanks, we usually shop at Publix when we come down and really enjoy the Boarshead brand. If that's the only store carrying it, then we'll continue shopping at Publix.
We've been very happy with Publix anyway; bright clean store, good selections, prices aren't bad, employees friendly and helpful.

Another vote for WD here.....we've tried both and like WD better. I have not purchased any fresh meats there....mostly fruits, breakfast stuff, and deli items.

Meats are not Publix strong point IMO. My experience with both companies in multiple locations suggests that's one area where WD is better. Albertson's better still but not as close or convenient.
