I'm planning on doing the CP and am trying to figure out if there is a cp session in the summer?? I know there is a fall and spring and I feel like I read somewhere that there was one during the summer. Could be wrong though. If anyone can help me as far as information I would greatly appreciate it : ) Even if there isn't one during the summer I am still planning on doing it..probably in the spring. Thanks so much!

Yes, there is a summer program, but its only for CP alumni (people who did the program before). If you do the Spring program, you can extend to do the summer program as well.

Thanks so much! By the way, I am writing this on my mom's name, haha. I am DD 19, not my mom. : p Ok, I will definitely do the spring semester then and check out extending it into the summer if all goes well. I am so excited, but so overwhelmed to begin this long process!

If you're interested in summer, you might want to look into spring advantage which will take you until August. The benefit is that you will most likely be placed in housing with other Advantage interns so you won't have to move and you will be guaranteed a spot.

There are advantages to simply extending though. You can switch areas and generally have a little more control. If you are interested in characters and don't have the opportunity to audition you can do what is known as end of program auditions, and they tell you rigth away if you are hired or not! The downfall to this is that you can only extend one time. So if you are spring advantage and wanted to extend you could end up working through the holidays by extending to do the fall. If you are just spring and extend for the summer, that is it.

I had one roommate who was spring and extended into the summer. She wanted to do a pro internship immediately afterwards, but a pro internship is considered the same thing as an extension and since she extended into the summer she couldn't be considered. All things to think about.

Actually, that's not true. You only can be on the CP for a total of 1 year. But if you just do the Spring/Fall program, you can extend twice. That is what I will be going for. I am doing Fall 2009. But I can extend first Jan-May, then again May to Aug 2010.

As for your roomie, I am going to guess that she couldn't go for the PI because it would have put her over 1 year on the programs.

Thanks for the clarification. That was what she was told (it would be extending twice), but perhaps the person talking to her was not so knowledgeable.

so wait, you can extend more than once as long as your stay is not longer than 1 year?
