Is there a show you like from "across the pond"?

I highly recommend the British series - Doc Martin.
It is excellent - a drama/comedy set in a seaside town near Cornwall.
The next season doesn't start until 2011 so you have lots of time to catch up on the first few seasons.

I love Doctor Who & Torchwood. I haven't seen Warehouse 13 or Being Human but they both look really good!

james mays toy stories is a current favorite, especially loved by my kids. its really fun!

beautiful people. very funny!

the office

coupling

life on mars

gordon ramseys various shows. I don't like the us versions, the brit ones are much better!

I'll have to Netflix some of the shows in this thread! We used to watch Keeping Up Appearances on PBS all of the time.

90% of the shows we watch are British Shows:
Doctor Who
Torchwood
The IT Crowd
The Mighty Boosh
FM
Skins
Jonathan Ross
Graham Norton
Gavin and Stacey
Nevermind the Buzzcocks
Friday/Sunday Night Project
Little Britain
Catherine Tate Show
etc....

in general the shows are just better over there than over here...

Thanks so much for the links!!! :woohoo: Now I can get hooked into RADIO too!!

I found The IT Crowd on Netflix...funny stuff...:happytv: Do you know if they are going to make a Series 4?? I need more Mo and Roy in my life!! :worship:

Thanks guys....I am going to have ALOT of things to watch because of you all..:yay:

series 4 is airing right now..I can point you to a place to watch it online if you'd like...:rolleyes1

I've loved Fawlty Towers since I was young. John Cleese at his best. If you like Monty Python, you'll love it.

Little Britian,Fawlty Towers,Murphys Law, Robin Hood, Jekyll, Dr.Who,
Basicaly anything on BBC America.

I love British Movies my favorite is Jane Eyre with Cirian Hinds:lovestruc
all my favorite actors are either English,Scottish,Irish or Welsh.

With the addition of British mysteries and a few Australian actors this is me as well.

BBCA is one of my favorite channels. My favorite, without question is Coupling. IMHO the best sitcom ever made. I was so excited when they made an American version. I was able to watch only a few minutes. It was just so bad that I ended up yelling at the tv, and turning it off.

Love the BBC.

All things Shakespeare that BBC has ever done are mesmerizing, oh and I tend to love the stuff on the Monarchy.

For Comedy Graham Norton & Fawlty Towers (have them all)

Love Eddie Izzard

But recently I've been hooked on watching "Wire in the Blood" on Netflix instant. Two things I prefer about Brit TV are #1, the characters look like normal people which makes them infinitely more likable and #2, because the casting directors are ok with average good looks talent is more valued so everything is of greater quality. Too bad the selection is so small. I wish Hollyweird would close the door on the Megan Foxes of the world and embrace talent over looks.

You couldn't be more right.

Doctor Who
Torchwood
Sara Jane Adventures
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The Young Ones

DH loves the above as well as:
Red Dwarf
Blake 7 (I saw some of the shows and liked it)
Absolutely Fabulous
Tomorrow People
The Benny Hill Show (both our fathers loved this show as well)
Assaulted Nuts
Are You Being Served
Faulty Towers
Black Adder (we both love the Dictionary EP :happytv:)

Father Ted
BlackAdder
Bless Me Father
Black Books, which turned me on to the next show on my list:
The Sweeney (love the '70s clothes! I snagged a copy of the season 1 dvds before they went out of print. I wish other seasons would come out over here.)
Fawlty Towers
Torchwood
Primeval
Monty Python
Keeping Up Appearances
The Last of The Summer Wine (when I can find it on tv)
The League of Gentlemen ("This is a local shop for local people!")
The Young Ones
Hex
Monarch of the Glen
The Pallisers
Space: 1999

and a great show from Canada: Trailer Park Boys (I so want to visit the King of Donaire some day and have a meal :goodvibes )

I wish someone would release Blake's 7 on dvd here. I've heard so much about it, I'd love to see it.

Being Human!

The storyline is interesting, and the guy that plays the vampire has a great accent and is so bad-boy hot!:lovestruc

I am a HUGE fan of anything that stars Gordon Ramsey..:lovestruc

F Word
Kitchen Nightmares

I also watched the British Apprentice when it was on..I enjoyed it MUCH more than the US version.

I have also watched a show, I cant remember the name, it stared 2 woman who went into homes and cleaned up after them...and they were nasty dirty homes!

Big fan of Are You Being Served as well...and the original Office. There is also a show called The IT Crowd I believe, its about a IT group..FUNNY stuff
