Independent of DDP, everyone paying cash. I thought I might have heard about paying double and getting kids meal for older kids considered "adult" but not sure if it extended to true adults. DH likes things very simple and plain, wouldn't do nuggets but where grilled chicken on kids meal, he may prefer that to adult version with sides and sauces he doen't like.

When paying cash at any non-buffet table service
. . . adults can order from kids menu
. . . kids can order from adult menu
. . . you can order one meal and split it for two people

Thanks. Can anyone else confirm? And if they really don't look at you like you have two heads and tell you kids meals are for children; is there a standard policy of paying double?

Can my DD13, on the DDP as an "adult", order something from the kids menu at TS? I realize she will be using an "adult" TS credit.

I have ordered off the child's menu at Coral Reef before. This of course was paying cash and not the DDP. I can't eat seafood but hubby really really loves it. So I made an ADR for the restaurant because well, he needs to be able to get some food he likes too.

So I ordered the chicken off the kids menu no problem.

Wow, thanks for the info! As many times as we've been I had no idea. It might really be a solution for times when I want to try one of the fancier restaurants, can tell him to get a burger and indulge me. There was nothing he wanted to eat at lunch at Ragland Road but we found a burger on the late night menu and so he ordered that. He said it was 'ruined' by the apple cutney they put on top. If we can order him plain stuff off the kids meal menu, that might work well.

Really?
Wow... this is good to know. For some reason I thought they frowned upon adults ordering kids meal on TS places.
This is wonderful news... :)

I've been told it's just fine as well as I was inquiring about eating from those menus when I either couldn't eat from the adult menu or just wasn't up for anything on there after having ahd gastric by-pass. I'll bring my card to prove I had the surgery as I wouldn's want to subject everyone to me raising my shirt to show the scars. :teeth:

We just returned from a 6 day stay using the DP-my 11DS is a very picky eater so at the TS places we ate at I always ordered his meal off the kids menu and told them to charge it seperately and paid OOP for these meals-and at Teppanyaki he didn't even order-the extra credits I saved allowed us to book more TS meals and we did some brft buffets with them (1900 Park Fare,Boma). The places I ordered kids menu OOP for him were LeCellier, WCC, Concourse :thumbsup2 popcorn::

I think I could count on one hand the number of reports I've read where a Disney restaurant gave a guest some difficulty about an adult ordering off the child menu. Typically, even then, they still allowed it, but charged a higher menu price. Regardless, they're typically a lot more generous and lenient about it than that.

I almost always order off the kids menu. They have never givin me a hard time about it. I'm a crazy picky eater, and I also like the thrill rides, so if its simple it's best for me. I alawys do the kids stuff at 50's pt.

I've never had a problem ordering off the kid's menu at WDW. DD is 15 yo and as tall as I am but can be really picky about food at times. They've always been very accommodating. Sometimes, I'm not that hungry myself when everyone else is and I'll order a kid's meal, too.
