Hi, not sure if its the same in paris as in WDW, but is there a rope drop when the park opens?? If so, does what time do people start gathering for this??
If there is a rope drop, is this when the scheduled opening time is? Hope all this makes sense, as we don't want to waste a minute of magical disney time.:cool1:

Yes, there is a rope-drop every day, at both the main Park and the Studios.

So, for example, if the official park opening time is 10am, you will get through the main gates into Main St at around 9am, and the rope-drops happen just at the entrances to the various "lands" at 10am. So you can wander Main St (check out the shops, cafes, arcades etc), but can't, for example, get into the castle, fantasyland, frontierland, adventureland, and discoveryland, until 10am.

hi we went in august and we were staying in one of th edisney hotels so were allowed in the park early but yes there were rope drops dead on 10 not sure what time people were queing though but it wasnt silly sorry cant be much more help

How do the rope drops work with people having the early magic hours then? is there certain people allowed past the ropes?

Sadie

Yes, if you have Extra Magic Hours (you show your hotel ID or your Dream Annual Pass) you get in the park, and in the lands where the rides are open, from 8am. So yes, you get past the rope :goodvibes .

Excellent :)

I've been told we need our hotel room key (L'Elysee hotel) to get the magic hours - fab to get onto the rides that bit sooner! Been looking on the website trying to find out which rides though!

Silly question maybe but I presume the shops etc on Main St are open before the rope drop?

so if you get morning extra magic hours, you can go into, say, fantasyland before rope drop, then if you wanted you could come back out again, see the rope drop then go back in with everyone else? x

Yes, you could do that.
But theres no fanfare or fuss about rope-drop - its just literally CM's holding a rope, then dropping it!

When we were there between 10th and 13th of September, in Disneyland Park they had a rope drops at each of the lands, but at the Studios, they were allowing people in and into the ride queues at or before 9:30am (we got there at around 9:30, and they were already allowing people all the way in). On one morning, we'd had our first ride on Crush before 10am.

It was the same for us when we were there Sept. 16th -20th, my kids went on Nemo earlier than 10 am but we were not allowed into Cars before the official opening time.
On the other hand the day we had booked Good Morning Fantasyland (that was suspposed to be at 8.15) we were not allowed into the Park till 9 am and so we didnt really have much time to enjoy the Park *just for ourselves*.

In WDS you congregate in Studio 1 and have a countdown before the park is official opened :)

I've been looking for the list of what's open early as well and here's what I found: (I searced this site a few times but didn't find anything so if anyone can confirm this information, I'd appreciate it) :goodvibes

I think they have changed the system to avoid the crowds in Studio 1 and mad dash for Crush when the park opens as when we were there end July you had to queue in Studio 1 til 10.00 and it was awful. Everyone was crowded in and almost everyone haeded in the same direction towards crush/cars. It was probably an accident waiting to happen so Im gald theyve had a rethink and seem to be now letting people through earlier to at least get in the line for Crush.
