is there a room discount/upgrade going on??

i have seen a couple posters mention they have upgraded their resort when they called to apply the Visa FD. Am i missing out on something? is there a room promotion going on too?
i called for visa FD and rec'd a $272 credit- or i could have paid $50 more to get deluxe dining.

What they're saying is that for the amount of their savings with FD, they were able to pay to upgrade to another level of resort. In some cases, even with upgrading FD was enough of a savings to still get money back even after paying for the upgrade.

I think it's more along the lines of...if you were staying at a value and had already decided on the dining plan. Since the value only gets you QSDP, then you'd have to pay to increase to DDP. So it was a better deal to upgrade to a moderate and then get the DDP for free.

For me, we're not planning enough dining for any DP. I've got Pop booked currently, but we're eating our way around the WS I'm holding out to see if there's a general public discount early next week If not, I figure I'll book with Pop and we'll eat some bigger breakfasts and get some free snacks
