Is there a pool for kids on castaway cay and do you have photos?

There is no pool, but there is a Cast Member supervised children's area away from the water where they 'dig for dinosaur bones' and other activities while the parents enjoy themselves at Serenity Bay, the Adults only area.
There is the family beach for everyone to get together and our kids had a great time there.
Since that visit, a newer section opened for the older kids with more slides etc. for the adolescent. I don't know how good that is yet. We'll have to wait a few years to find out.

There are no pools on Castaway Cay. They don't HAVE to go in the ocean. If your child can't or doesn't want to go in the ocean, there are play areas.

There is definitely a play area called spring leak that squirts out water. I would say it is for the younger set though. My kids played in it last June but they were watching our friend's kids while they were playing. They liked it and were 5 and 3 at the time.

Here's a picture I stole off the internet. Just do a google search for spring-a-leak Castaway Cay and you'll find tons of pictures.

the POOL is aboard the ship. there is no need for one on CC.. and you aren't in the open ocean.. they are secluded bays/inlets.

May I ask then, why would you want to go to a beach? You could stay on the boat and have the pools there all to yourself.

I have a deathly phobia of sharks. Have had one all of my life since I was 5. I dont want my kids in the ocean. I love the beach atmosphere however. Love lying on the beach watching the gorgeous ocean and getting a tan. Love castaway cay. Can enjoy a beach without having to go into the water. :beach:

Hmmm that's too bad but I can't think of a better place to conquer your fears than CC! The waters are clear and calm, take a deep breath and really enjoy the entirety of the moment!

namaste...

Are you aware that there are shark nets in the openings of the rock barriers that surround the family beach? There are also lifeguards out on stands in the water. If a shark were to be observed in the family beach area, they would direct everyone to get out of the water. After a hurricane blew through the island and the nets were ripped, they didn't allow anyone in the water.

Well there you go! NO SHARKS!!! YAY!!! :beach: Enjoy your trip!!!

I certainly understand phobias. I have a needle one. I have casually been absent for many of my son's shots. His dad is there. DS hasn't noticed yet. ;)

If it where me, I would preplan some things that allow you to get back on the ship without the kiddo's knowing you are actually practicing avoidance. Hit the splash area, shallow end of water, and the beach. Eat lunch and then head on back to the aqua duck or the pool there. ;) I know that it will be hard to relax while they are in the water!!!! I know you know, that the likelihood of your kids getting eaten by a shark are slim. It is just hard to turn off that part of your brain that goes into panic mode. Good luck, I am sure you will work it out.

Yes Im aware of this and I dont trust the nets. They cant control what was in the water before the nets went up.

Putting my son in the ocean then leaving him there is not going to make me feel better. There is a big difference between not watching a needle which cant kill your kid to putting him in an ocean full of predators which can.

You are more likely to be hurt from a falling coconut than by a shark:rotfl2:In the U.S., your chances of getting killed by lightning are 30 times greater than dying of a shark attack.Alone in the USA and Canada approximately 40 people are killed each year by pigs – six times more than by sharks worldwide.

I hope that you enjoy your vacation in whatever way you choose to enjoy it. :)

Speaking of sharks... Time to go watch some hockey. :cool1:
