I am wondering if you don't make your ADR's is there a penalty and if so what is it?

Also when on the DXDP and there are soups, salads and "sides" listed are any of them included?

Thanks in advance

45-minutes sealed in a boat with Small World song blaring in your ears.

I'm 100% confident that 'It's A Small World' is the song they play in Hell. :lmao:

OP - yes, there is a no show fee for most restaurants and when you make your ADRs they will ask for a CC number to have on file for such an occurance. The cost depends on the restaurant, but it is typically $10 per person. I can't remember if it is the full cost of the meal or not for places that are full prepay such as CRT.

there is a no show fee for SOME restaurants, not most restaurants. General rule of thumb...character meals have no-show fees. But many of the non-character places do not have any no-show fees.

If you're asked for your credit card at the time of reservation, you're either paying in full in advance (like for the dinner shows or Cinderella's Castle meals) or you're giving it for a no-show fee. If you don't need your credit card to make the reservation, you will not be charged for a no show.

On the DxDP at table service restaurants you get an appetizer, an entree, a dessert and a non-alcoholic beverage. Soups and salads are considered appetizer choices (some restaurants will list all the soups & salads with the other appetizers. Other restaurants lists soups separately, salads separately and appetizers separately. Either way, you can order a soup for your appetizer, or a salad, or a traditional appetizer. As for side dishes...you will get the side dishes that come with the entree. So for example, if the menu says "Roast pork chop with fingerling potatoes and steamed asparagus" those are the sides your meat comes with. You may be allowed to substitute the sides from a different entree...like the chicken comes with rice and you'd rather have that instead of potatoes. Most places will allow that kind of sub on the sides. However, if there are other side dishes on the menu, priced separately, you would have to pay cash to get those sides (although some restaurants will allow you to order those separate sides as your appetizer on the deluxe dining.) Bottom line, if you see something you'd like, ask. The worst that can happen is they'll tell you no.

Edited to add:

Here's the list for pre-pay in full restaurants as well as those that charge a no-show: This is maybe 1/4 of the restaurants at Disney (but it's all of the character meals and the signature restaurants)

:thumbsup2 This! Each credit card guarantee will charge you $10 per person if you don't show up to your reservation.

It should be noted (I'm not advocating this by any means!) if you turn up at anytime during the day of your reservation, you won't be charged a no show free. If your ADR was 8:05am and you turned up to the reservation at 2pm, you won't be charged. The no show is charged at the close of business and can be revered if you have turned up.

In the event of an emergency (injury, child was sick) most restaurants will reverse the charge. You need to contact the restaurant directly or go to the podium.

45-minutes sealed in a boat with Small World song blaring in your ears.

My wife and I got stuck on Small World for 45 minutes once and they never turned the music off or even down. Trust me, it was painful and long-lasting.

Since the first part has been answered thoroughly, I'll address the 2nd part.

Typically, most soups and salads will be covered. There may be a salad entree that would only be covered under the entree portion, but those are far and few between. The "sides" portion of the menu is usually not covered and anything ordered from there will be out of pocket.

They'll also go over in detail at the restaurant what is included and what is not, so all those one-offs will be explained if you need them to be (or even if you don't! :p)

Is the bolded true? I thought that you were a no-show (and, subsequently, charged) if you were more than 30 minutes late. :confused3

There have been many reports on the board that support this fact. This was discussed on another thread several weeks ago. We have been late to reservations in the past and the restaurants have always managed to fit us in. I'm not advocating being late for an ADR but things do happen on a trip. If there has been a serious hold up (illness, accident ect) It's certainly work a try and your card isn't charged until park close. Also the manager of the restaurant can reserve the charge if there are certain circumstances.

Well that's good to know, then! :goodvibes I think the latest I have ever been for an ADR was 20 minutes to CM. I was worried because we usually make sure we're at the restaurants about 10 before our ressies. They took us with no questions asked.

I have had experience with not being charged for someone who got sick - we had a Fantasmic! dinner package at Mama Melrose in 2010. My DB was having some nasty heat exhaustion issues so he and his GF wound up heading back to the room to rest. The rest of us checked in and I did tell the CM we were two short for our ressie. I just figured I'd be charged for DB & GF but my card was never hit with that $20. :worship:

If you have a reservation for 10 and 1 person turns up and dines there, you won't be charged for the other 9. :thumbsup2 Things happen and Disney understands that. 20 minutes late is nothing really, although sometimes you'll need to wait for an available table. You only might have trouble on particularly busy days but they will always try and accommodate you as best they can.

1) Not quite.
2) As long as you show up SOMETIME during the day, you aren't a no-show.
3) Just go later in the day and explain the problem to a manager.
4) This applies to almost all eateries, almost all the time.
5) They do not make the no-show penalty decision until the end of the day.

NOTE: This applies to *most-restaurants-on-most-days*. HOWEVER, you
might get a grumpy manager on a bad day who will charge you for not
showing up at your ressie time, even if you come later.

That's a nightmare come to life.

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled as "cruel and inhumane punishment",
. . . hanging as the death penalty
. . . prison overcrowding
. . . caught on it's a small world during a 1-hr mechanical failure
. . . being drawn-and-quartered
. . . your child has tattoos in places you didn't know she even had places
