I have been trying for days to get basic info on DIS CON II. Stuff like...

*What it is
*When it is
*Where it is
*How much it costs
*What's on the schedule
*What's included
*What's optional
Etc, etc, etc.

Surely this information exists somewhere in some easy to use and understand format. Can someone enlighten me?

(BTW, I know about the "SIGN UP" link, but that provide zero information.)

TIA

Kelly, there really isn't any one place for one stop shopping, so to speak. But maybe I can help. DIS-CON is the DIS Convention. It combines some special events with a ton of "mini-meets" held through out the convention. The dates are Dec. 4-8, starting with registration/check in and an opening reception on the 4th. It ends on the 8th with a closing breakfast. Here's the link for the description of these events and the cost:

The cost includes these events. Room and park tickets are not included. However, Pete does have a special room rate at the Swan for those attending the convention. I don't know about any specials for park tickets yet.

We don't have a schedule of mini meets yet. That is still under construction.

Hope this helped at least a little.

Here's what I know so far:

What: DIScon - A Gathering of Friend - 2nd annual DIS member gettogether
When: December 4th through 8th, 2002
Where: Swan and Dolphin Hotels and Epcot
Cost: $225 for adults $215 for children
Schedule: Opening reception, two breakfasts, IllumiNations Dessert Party, one dinner
Optional: You must purchase park passes and arrange your own hotel room (although discounted rooms at the Swan/Dolphin are available to conventioneers).

Additionally, there are lots of unofficial events in the planning stages. This is a brief overview. I will rely on others here to add to my description.

NOTE: Last year, PatinMN provided a detailed itinerary prior to the convention. As soon as he has the info, I know that he is planning to provide this service again this year.

So the $225 covers the special DIS CON events (like the meals), but park admish and hotels are additional, right?

Also, am I correct in assuming it's an all or nothing proposition? IOW, if I can only come for one day, it's still $225?

Yes Kelly, you assumed right. The cost is for the entire convention. I hope you can make it.

Yep, $225 is for the events. All other things -- hotel, park tickets, alcohol at Jellyrolls, photos of Ray dancing -- are extra. :)

If Kelly comes, we ought to have a Kelly Monaghan book signing meet! :)
