Is there a grocery/supermarket close to BWV?

Hi -- I leave this Sunday -- nothing like the last minute... Ha! Sorry .. I can't seem to find my info -- I thought I gathered it on this topic.

Is there a supermarket close to Boardwalk Villas.... or on the way to BWV from the airport ?

I have never stayed at a DVC yet because I am a new member. My first stay will be this Tuesday. But I do know where most of the grocery stores are.
The ones I go to most often are the Publics down East US-192. It is quite a way down from the WDW complex, but they have everything there, from a fantastic bakery to a great deli with cooked chicken and fish etc...
If you drive a little farther past Medievel Times you will find a Super Walmart with a grocery store. I like to go there because they have a great selection of Disney type merchandise like pool floats and paddle ball stuff in addition to glasses and dishes with Mickey on them. Makes great souveiners that the kids can use while at the resort.
There is also a store near International Drive a block away from the largest Mc'donalds in Florida. If you leave WDW at the DTD entrance you take a left out the gates off Hotel Blvd and the first Right. Drive down about 1 1/2 miles and go through the intersection (only if the light is green) Right after the 7-11 is the entrance to the grocery store. there is also a K-mart in the store.
And of course there is a grocery store at Crossroads. This might be the closest, but it is the most expensive. You can get there by taking Hotel Blvd and going straight into the Crossroads shopping complex. I have gone here before, but it is more like a specialty store to mee than a full grocery store. Goodings. It's located at the Crossroads of Lake Buena Vista, at the end of the Hotel Blvd that begins at the entrance to the Downtown Disney Marketplace. It's open 24 hours a day and has nice but very expensive items. It has beer and wine (I'm not sure about liquor). Expensive by home standards but cheap compared to inside Disney prices. There is a Publix down the road from there, about 10 minutes or so. If you wanted to go there, instead of going straight into Crossroads, turn right at the light and go until you see the Publix sign. Actually the last time we tried this the traffic was so bad that we turned around and went to Goodings.

hi: just got back from bwv monday night. we stopped at albertson's -12981 S. Orange Blossom Trail. when you are driving from the airport, you will be on SR 417 (Central Florida Greeneway) if you take the south airport exit. Albertson's is exit 11 on 417. the exit and re-entry ramps are in the same spot. their prices are much better than gooding's and maybe a tad higher than publix, but we thought the store was much cleaner and better organized.

In a post I read awhile back, someone had commented on how you can fax your grocery order to Albertson's and they will have it ready for you at no extra charge. Has anyone else heard of this or tried it? Sounds good to me!!

hi: we heard about that too and were going to try it for our trip (5/1-5/7), but had also heard the store was in the middle of a bit of reorganization. also, we do tend to stock up on fresh fruit and prefer to pick that out ourselves.
