Is there a Doctor at Disney??

We were just at BWV in January, and my 22-month-old son caught the stomach flu going around or something. He threw-up 4 times within about 2 hours (from about 3pm to 5pm). We asked at the front desk about first aid, etc. They told us what pretty much everyone else has said--they have a doctor on-site, but apparently that's the "most expensive" option. There's also the clinics that people have mentioned and the ER. They gave us a map with directions to the clinic. [We decided to wait and see, and ended up calling our ped. in the morning (figured if it was a virus, there wasn't much anyone could do anyway).]

Well, around 6pm there was a knock on our door--it was a CM from the front desk with balloons and a card for my son. The card had a picture of Pooh and Friends, and was signed by Pooh. :) I thought it was great that Disney would do that--especially since we were the ones that had to keep finding a CM to, ah, "clean things up," shall we say. They must have been "magic balloons" because my son was bouncing around the room and playing with the balloons until he fell asleep a little while later. He did throw-up one more time in the middle of the night, and it took him a few days to get "back to normal" where eating was concerned.

Of course the rest of us then took turns getting the stomach flu or a cold. It's now almost a month later, and I'm at the tell end of my turn with the cold. :( Let's just say this wasn't our "best" trip to Disney. But there were still good times!

2 years ago we were at Sheraton Vistanta, and my DD woke with ear pain. We called the front desk and they gave us the name of Resort Physicans, Dr Tom Blehl. He showed up within an hour and checked her out. Cost 100 about the same price as a walk in clinic. Called the pharmacy and within another 1 hour we were on on way to the parks. He was very good and now I carry his number whenever we head to Disney.

407-465-0000 Resort Physicans.

Thanks for this info. I am writing the number down immediately in my Passporter, just in case! Reading all these posts has convinced me we might need a doc on our next trip. You never know, especially with little ones.

We used the crossroads clinic one time when my handicapped brother broke his toe. They were nice but they made us pay instead of using our insurance. That is pretty much the way it is everywhere when you are out of town. They gave us detailed paper work to file our own when we got home. They were very nice but with Ricky he doesn't like doctors, so it was really bad. They couldn't do much with a broken toe, but I would never hesitate to use them again.
