Is there a Disney food you like so much that you make it at home?

OK...this is hardly from scratch, but I like to buy Dole Whip mix and make it in my ice cream maker.

I also have a Mickey waffle iron, but it's really more of a glorified pancake.

I have a Mickey toaster somebody gave me as a housewarming gift years ago, but I don't really use it because the "Mickey face" comes out really light on the toast, and sorry, but "The Mickey Mouse Club" song EACH and EVERY time the toast pops up and get really annoying! It's like the Small World song for your kitchen! LOL

Rice cream with strawberries and school bread. The rice cream came out really good. The school bread wasn't quite right.

We bought a Mickey waffle iron years ago when it first came out. Virtually never use it though because it isn't of any value to only be able to make one at a time.

This is the one I have, it's the only one I've found that makes the same size waffles as the ones in disney (small and thick) and you get four at a time. I have never made them on a stick...

We have the original one that makes full-size waffles like you get at Disney, not the mini ones that yours makes. Either way, it's great if you are cooking for one, but if you are feeding multiple people, you can't make them all at one time. You have to make one (or 4 minis) at a time, keep them warm, and make multiple batches. Just takes too long.

Not exactly a disney food but being in the northeast the first time i discovered biscuits and gravy was at wdw. We even bought the cookbook in order to have exactly the same recipe.

They don't have biscuits and gravy in the Northeast? That's one of the saddest things I've ever read.

Like, whenever someone reads your post, a Sarah MacLachlan song should start playing.

I know, I can't even imagine it how do they even eat breakfast?

For the original question: I make grapefruit cake every Thanksgiving, I've also made the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese (can't remember where it's from I have a Disney restaurant cookbook) and I make the avocado/grapefruit/mint salad (again can't remember where it's from) every Thanksgiving as well.

I did the Wild Africa Trek back in April and fell in love with the Curried Chicken Salad. I was surprised at how easy it was to make.

I forgot from my original list, I make the Panzanella Salad from Mamma Melrose. I don't know why I forgot that as I make it for my work lunches all the time. I make a big bowl of it and then dish it out into my Tupperware bowls and toss those in the fridge and grab one each morning to take to work.

Sadly after I started making it I wanted to see how my version stacked up against one made at Disney and looked on the menu and it wasn't there, so I'm going with it tastes 100% just like it :)

We also own a Disney cookbook and make the Cheddar cheese soup from Le Cellier and the New England clam chowder from Cape May Café. There's also a Twinkie Tiramisu recipe that's awesome but I can't remember where I had it at the World.

Twinkie Tiramisu is listed as being at Classic Hall at Pop Century

Pulling out the cookbook reminded me of another Disney food I love to make.....Anna Potatoes, this potato pie is DELICIOUS. Showed up with it to my families Christmas get-together and it was a hit, everyone wanted the recipe!

I had to find a schnitzel recipe after our first visit to Biergarten. My husband thinks this means I will attempt to make their sausage salad.

He is incorrect.

i'd love to buy a Disney cookbook! i can't find one on the disney store website. what's the title of the most recent one?
I love cooking with Mickey in the Disney chefs it's by Pam Brandon she also has a volume two which isn't as pretty. There's another one by her that contains treasures from the vault but I forgot the name offhand
