Is there a direct bus between DTD and Typhoon Lagoon?

It's complicated.

From 1 hour before TL opening until about 11 a.m., buses stop at TL on the way in to DTD. So until about 11:30 a.m., there are direct buses from TL to DTD. During that time, there are a few buses that also stop at TL on the way out of the Marketplace, but the only way to find one is to ask the cm wearing an orange vest at the Marketplace bus depot.

From about 11 a.m. until shortly before TL closing, buses stop at TL on the way out of DTD. So at those times, most buses are direct buses from DTD to TL. The only way back to DTD from TL after about noon is to board a bus to a resort, which will eventually return to DTD. It's not necessary to transfer; just stay on the bus until it gets back to DTD. The quickest routes are SSR or FtW, which will take about 30 minutes.

Sometimes, but not always, about an hour before TL closes, buses leaving DTD will discontinue picking up at TL on the way out. Instead, buses will shuttle guests from TL to the PI bus depot.

  • Before 11 a.m.: Yes, but you need to ask the cm at MktPl for assistance
  • After 11 a.m.: Yes, almost any bus
• Direct buses from TL to DTD:
  • Before noon: Yes, almost any bus
  • After noon: Take bus to SSR or FtW, which will return to DTD after resort

I thought it was something like that.

I was thinking about driving to TL and spending the morning there, then taking a break and going to DTD by bus for a few hours and then taking the bus back to TL and spending a few more hours there.

It still might be easier than driving back and forth.

Yep, that should work. The only thing is if you leave TL after noon, you'll need to travel to DTD thru a resort, taking about 30 minutes.
