I say yes. The popcorn popper kind is more like movie theater to me.popcorn::

But I think it's all in my head.;)

I do agree that the 2 taste different - at least to me they do, probably not the kids. They prefer me popping it vs. the microwave b/c they can watch it pop. And they have just discovered the Jiffy pop that you put on a stove burner and shake and the foil expands to look like a mushroom head - they think it is too funny...

Try different brands/types of microwave popcorn - we LOVE Pop Secrets Homestyle popcorn - right amount of butter & salt taste and VERY addicting!!!

I prefer making popcorn in the air popper. To me, it tastes better and I can control what goes on it. Always real butter (but just a bit) and a small amount of salt.

I hardly ever make microwave popcorn--once a year or so at work.

Microwave popcorn doesn't taste as fresh and has a greasy taste to it. There's definitely a difference.

Have you ever tried to pour melted butter over microwave popcorn?

The kernels that get buttered actually shrink!! :scared1:

Microwave popcorn seems to get cold so fast. I need to look into getting an airpopper.
