We will be staying at the WL for 10 nights. The first few days we will be doing Universal so we need a car. We were thinking of renting a car at the airport and using that for the first couple days but then it's going to be difficult returining it to the airport and then getting transportation back to teh resort. Our other idea was to take a car service from the airport to the WL and rent a car at the resort for a few days and that way it would be easy to retun when we are done? Are there any car rentals at any of the resorts or anywhere on Disney property?? Any other adivce that might be helpful?? TIA

If you rent at the airport from National you can return that car at the Car Care Center in WDW. They will transport you back to your resort when you return it.

Thanks. I didn't know there was a car care center in WDW. Can you give me an idea where it's located in WDW??

Right outside the MK. There is also a rental desk at the Dolphin.

We did the Universal/Disney thing on our last trip. We rented at the airport, went to Universal for a couple days, then headed into Disney early one morning. We were able to check our bags at the resort, then returned our rental car to one of the hotels at Downtown Disney and just take a bus back to the resort. I think that several hotels at Downtown Disney have rental companies, it would just be a matter of matching the company up. Hope that helps!

We rented a car from the CCC for 3 full days. We did 2 days at Universal and 1 day at Daytona (for bike week). They pick you up at your resort. I believe we had a Saturn L300. Scrounge around for codes. I believe you can find them on mousesavers.com. We had a code from National for a weekend rate, then an Entertainment code, then AmEx code. I think our car for those 3 days was like $80. We needed a booster seat for DS, so that was a additional $7/day. We loved the freedom of getting in the car and going out to dinner. I never thought I would manage my way around the WDW roads, but it really is a piece of cake. Just follow the signs.

Rent a car from either National or Alamo and drop it off at the Car Care Center outside MK. The directions are there for you and pretty simple. The shuttle will take you back to wherever you want. My gang checked in at AKL, I drove them to BB, dropped off the van and the shuttle drove me back to BB.
