Is there a barney area or something like that at Universal?

My friend's sister was told to take her 2 yr old to Universal and let him play in "Barney World". Is there such a place there? I have always thought Universal was aimed more to older kids and Disney to any age. I told her I would ask here since I knew I could get a honest answer!

Yes there is a Barney show in the same vicinity as the Curious George Playland.

that'd be good, because from the "outside" that's all there looks like....DS refuses to step foot in/near Barney

Yes, yes, YES! There is a Barney show which is great. Barney, along with BJ and Baby Bop, sing classic kid-friendly songs and dance around the crowd (sitting on benches... thank you, thank you for not putting my aging butt on the floor...). Immediately after the show, they open the exit doors which lead into Barney's Backyard playground. You can have a picture with Barney if you want, but the play area is the absolute BEST for the very young that I have seen at a theme park. It is all indoors (air conditioned). My 2 y/o had a blast. One exit from Barney's Backyard leads into the Barney Store and one leads out toward the line for the Barney Show. You don't have to see the show to get to the play area. Just walk in through the store. It is best to hit it during or between shows because it is very crowded for a few minutes after the show lets out.
