Hi

A while ago I had a point/reservation tracking program that got wiped on my old comp. It kept track of the contracts and each vacation planned running a tally of my point balance. I remember "Bill" being the author i think. But could be wrong, are there any out there i could get directed to?

thank you

With the DVC Planner (Fredrickson) is there a way to carry the data on an older computer to a new computer that you just installed the planner program into.

Thanks
chris

Thanks for the follow up.

Does anyone know if the KidDVC DVC Planner link is a program that is updated, It only references past years on the web page. Nothing current.

I believe CaskBill planner program is great, but I guess he does not have a Point Tracking program out there yet.

Does anyone know if this is something coming soon from him?

Thanks
T.

Sections of the program are going into pre-beta tests this week. I expect the full version to be ready for beta tests in the next few months.

Meanwhile, here's a sneak preview of the main screen of the program.
This particular example represents an initial 180 point OKW purchase, a 50 point OKW Add-On, and a 75 point BCV Add-On. There are some banked points, but no points in the Holding Account, or Reservation Points, or returned Borrowed points.

If someone has more than one membership number, they can switch between membership contracts. Information is updated for the particular use year month for the contract being shown.

The SSR reservation was made using some of the OKW points and some of the BCV points. (Clicking on any line for a specific reservation will bring up a screen showing exactly what points were used for that reservation and contract information for those points, other information about the reservation including confirmation number, date reservation was made, and any comments entered for the reservation.

If you mean DVCManager (Fredrickson) you need to copy the initialization file (DVCManager.ini) and all files that end with the extension .DVC

If you mean DVC-Planner (Caskbill), you need to copy all data files (.dat) and any report files (.rpt)

Caskbill... the new tracker looks great! If you cancel the reservation inthe example will it put the pioints back into their home resorts??

Sorry to go off topic...but Caskbill your new tracker does look fantastic  .

I hope the beta testing goes smoothly :) .

I can't wait for the new manager Bill, your planner helped me know if buying was right for my mother and I.

One feature for both Dave and Bill would be to provide for the sale of a contract. For example someone buys a master and then adds-on and sells the master. There are variations on this. But it would be nice to be able to retain the history when you sell.

Yes. It will also assign a status to the points as being Regular, Banked, Borrowed, Holding, or Reservation, all depending on the origin of the points, the type of reservation made, and the date of cancellation. Thus if you cancel a non-DVC reservation at any time, the points become Reservation Status and the program will not allow you to later use those points to make a DVC reservation. If you cancel a DVC-Reservation at less than 31 days out, the points are classified as Holding, and certain restrictions apply. If you cancel a DVC-Reservation originally made with Banked or Borrowed points, those points are returned to the Use Year they were banked or borrowed into, and maintain their Banked/Borrowed status.

DVC-Tracker has this ability, including recording items such as sale date, sale prices received, fees paid, comments, etc. Also, you will still be able to review all historical information for that original purchase and all point usages, banking, reservations, etc that were used for that contract while you had it. If only part of a contract is sold such as the original master, or one of the Add-On's, the program will keep the remaining unsold parts active so you can still use those points for new transactions.

Ditto, it looks wonderful!!!!!!!!!!1

Yes! Caskbill - It looks great! I have had your program for a little while now but just recently used it to plan out our next trip and it was SO easy and helpful!!

I can't wait for the points manager feature to be added since that was the only other feature that I had wished it had.

Thanks for the great work!

Does it have the capability to transfer points in or out? Also, if you need a beta tester, as a programmer myself I would be more than willing to help out

Yes, doing transfers both between your own two accounts, or doing transfers in/out from the outside. However unlike some other parts of the program, this feature will not have conditional checking such as the check the program makes that will not allow you to make a DVC reservation using Reservation Status points.

In other words, with DVC if you tranfer points out or your account, you may not then also transfer other points into the same account during the same year. My program will not check for that condition and will assume any transfer you make is legal and will accept it. So there will be some things users will need to watch themselves.

Of course users should actually perform all point transactions with MS before they enter the information into my program, or any point tracking program. That way of course they will also have the confirmation number that they received from MS and can also enter it too.

PM'd you on the beta.
