Is the World of Color dinner and reserved seating worth the $$$?

We did the preferred dining last Sept. at Wine Country. The dining for that was on the 2nd floor. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I believe we had dinner somewhere around 6:00 then had the 9:00 show. We arrived at the show around 8:00. Walked right in. We decided to stand on the stairs. We were able to sit there for a long time. The area did not fill up and we could have sat the whole time if we wanted. Standing on the stairs makes you taller than the ones standing by the fence. I have told my son to sit there with my granddaughter in a couple of weeks. I don't think she will have any trouble seeing and she is 4 1/2.

Also I don't know if anyone answered you about Fantasmic. You can pay to have the area with charis and you get dessert with that. If not you can sit on the cement. People start sitting around 6 to 7. They will make you stand up about 1/2 hour before the show starts. We have chosed to have dinner several times at River Belle outside and have just sat there and waited for the show. Good seats and free. Someone sits while others ride. Just some addtional thoughts to think about.

BUT the WOC lunch at WCT just gives a regular FP, NOT a pass for the preferred dining. If you want the preferred section, the dinners are the only way. Their wording online is quite sneaky ("reserved ticket" vs. "preferred ticket" with dinner) but there is a difference. If you want the preferred area, call and change to dinner!!

Wow! Thank you for posting this. We were thinking of doing lunch because of the menu differences, same as the OP but maybe we will switch to dinner now. Very Sneaky of them!

That is exactly what we did and we enjoyed the show. We arrived a little more than an hour before and it was very much like a herd of cattle. People coming up after us definately got in front of us, but we still got on the rail at the lowest area.

You just have to pay close attention and be ready to move. People who were a little less aware ended up losing spots when the "line" moved forward.

That is what happened to us. We had a pretty good spot and then just before the show they ask everyone to move over to fill in the space and we lost our good spot. I guess the thing to do is hold your ground and let everyone fill in around you?

You are also the only person I have seen from Gresham too! "It's a small world" I am a kindergarten/first grade teacher at a private school off of Palmblad/Palmquist. I have lived in Gresham for 33 years and love it!

I was a bit disappointed with the WOC preferred dining package--thought it was a lot of $ for mediocre food and we didn't end up with a great view. Had an ok spot, but at start of show people in front of us put kids on shoulders, blocking my daughter's view (9 yo at the time) and even mine. Quite a bit of lining up early and waiting involved, too. Think we might try again this summer with cheaper picnic dinners/fastpass option and see how we like that...
