Is The Wishes Dessert Party Worth The Money?

The only negative to the party is that it overlooks the smoking area and we had cigarette smoke constantly drifting up to us which was disgusting. I would not do the party again because of this.

As far as the being out of the crowds to enjoy the fireworks and enjoying the desserts - it was great but proximity to smoking location wrecked the complete enjoyment aspect.

Thanks, that decided it for me totally! :sad2:

Yuck! That decides it for us, too. My kids have asthma. There is no way they could stand it. :guilty:

We went in April and loved it and would definitely do it again!

We did not experience the smoking issue, we also have an asthmatic child.

The dessert/beverages were out longer than 25 minutes, I know that we were getting snacks during the actual fireworks. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the feedback. We ended up booking a reservation! We might not get another chance to experience this, so might as well take it when there's a chance!

We did it on a Sunday night and I did not notice any cigarette smoke. And I have a DD who is truely obnoxious about anyone smoking in her airspace. If there had been smoke around, she'd have growled and rolled her eyes for the entire time.

I think it probably depends on whether there is a breeze or not - how many people smoking down below and where your table is at the party.

We were seated on the lower level - right by the Photopass Photographer. It was a lovely breeze that night which unfortunately brought the cigarette smoke our way. When I looked down at the smoking area after getting our pictures done by photopass photographer - the smoking area was wall to wall people. Even the photographer commented to us that the smoke was very noticeable that night.

We were just unfortunate that the night we were there - we did experience the smoke and it did effect our enjoyment of the event. It seemed every time one took a breath - you inhaled some cigarette smoke. Also, being from Canada where we have very strict laws about smoking in public places, I am not exposed to it very much so when there is cigarette smoke, I notice it.

I understand Disney having smoking areas but having an eating area overlook a smoking area is not good planning, in my opinion.

And the cigarette smoke was the only negative in my opinion. We enjoyed the variety and quality of the desserts. It was awesome to have a table to sit at and enjoy the fireworks. I definitely felt we got our money's worth on the desserts.

The OP took the question right out of my mouth because DH and I are going to Disney next Saturday/Sunday specifically for Summer Nightastic! (And also our anniversary, but fireworks and parades are obviously the main motivator.)

I've no idea how the "new" Main Street Electrical Parade and Summer Nightastic fireworks differ from Spectormagic and Wishes, but here is my question: Are the MSEP and Summer Nightastic fireworks nicely visible from the dessert party as Spectormagic and Wishes are?
