Is the week BEFORE Christmas crazy?

for DVC reservations, it's best to book that week at 11 months if at all possible. lower point costs means it's a very popular time for DVCers.

the parks are not so bad, though. it does usually get worse as kids get out of school closer to christmas. you might also have to watch out for pop warner kids in some years (not much of an impact for DVC resorts but can affect some evenings in the parks).

We go every year the first 2 weeks of dec. Usually its pretty slow. The dec that just past there were more people than usual especially when we went to mickeys christmas party. Usually it dies off after fireworks but this year it was crowded for both parades. There were many cheerleading groups there. They had just finished taping the christmas show. The weather can be iffy. We had nice daytime weather but cooled down at night.

we went this year from dec 17th to 24th.

The 17th and 18th weren't too bad but starting saturday the 19th on it got worse and worse. By the 22nd the parks were packed and if you didn't use fastpass you had huge waits. One day we got to DHS at 9:30(park opens at 9) 2+ hour wait for Rockin rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, and Toy story mania. Fast passes were already up to 3:45 for all 3 rides. Crazy.

For 10th to 17th you should be ok.

This was first time we went in december so others that go every year have commented on how busy it was earlier in december than usual. Most contribute it to free dining plan offer that they had and without it this year hopefully won't be as crowded.

With regards to DVC stays depending on where you want to be better book at 11 month window.

From a DVC standpoint, the week before Christmas can be almost as tough to book as the week after.
