Is the water in the room filtered?

We are big water drinkers and usually stay offsite, but have our first DVC stay coming up!!! I know the water in the parks is filtered and we drink it just fine, but how is it at the resorts? Is it filtered? Drinkable? I know offsite we have had to buy water because we didn't care for the taste of the water.

Just trying to plan my grocery order and wondering whether I need to include water. We are staying at OKW and SSR. Thanks for the help!

IMO OKW has pretty good water but I always buy some bottle to carry in the parks. Water taste is so subjective, what some like, others don't, so you may or may not like OKW water.

I think that the WDW water is better than it used to be but we still buy big 2.5 gallon water jugs at the grocery store. Lots of people keep a Brita filter in their Owner's Lockers.

It's Florida tap water. Some people can drink it with no problem, others find it disgusting. I have no problem drinking it.

I agree. It used to be undrinkable at some resorts but has gotten better. Now I find it drinkable, especially if it's cold. We still buy jugs of bottled water for making coffee and bottles to take into the parks.

Mine is filtered through my Brita pitcher! But I can drink park water now, and years ago I couldn't. Does that mean I visit too often?

WDW has its own potable water system---technically, it is run by the Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID), which is Disney's very own governmental entity. We find it to be slightly less "Florida" than Kissimmee's, for example, and better than it used to be, but still somewhat sulfurous. It should be basically the same as you would find in the parks in a drinking fountain. (If you get an ice water at a soda fountain, those are filtered once again.)

We keep a small Brita filter in our Owners' Locker. It makes otherwise okay water even better.

Plan on buying the water. Unless you like the taste of swamp. It's interesting how some of the restaurants definitely refilter their water (Flying Fish), while others (California Grill) do not.

We don't like the taste of the water, whether it be from the faucet in the villas or the water fountains in the parks. We use a Brita to filter the water in the villas & a Brita water bottle for the parks.
