Is the walkway to DTD from SSR closed in february?

The old walkway is gone, a new bridge will be built as part of the Disney Springs project, but the timeline for the bridge hasn't been published.

People are still walking along Buena Vista Drive to the Market Place or across the bridge to the West Side.

The open walkway to the West Side is near the Carriage House. The side walk along Buena Vista Dr (and closed walkway) that leads to the Marketplace are near Congress Park.

I am not too familiar with SSR. So if one is staying in the Congress Park area, can they still walk to DTD? I have heard this is a good area for those who want to walk to DTD but then I heard the walkway is closed. Based on these previous posts it sounds like there is still a reasonable and safe way for people to do so still from Congress Park. We will be travelling with young adults in March and are just trying to decide what area would be good to request as we know they will be going back and forth to DTD and likely will be coming back after the last boat.

Thanks for your advice and help. We are really looking forward to our first stay at SSR.

Yes there is a way. You have to walk out of the parking lot for CP area, past the guard shack on that end of the property, along the sidewalk of Buena Vista Dr, and behind the bus drop-off area for DTD.

We got back yesterday and used both walkways to DTD west side and market place. same as always.

There have been many reports that guests have had to walk past the guard shack in the SSR parking lot because the walkway has been taken out of service, now it's back?

We used it most nights over xmas and NYE flew back on the 10th jan and used it that morning for one last trip to ghirardellis

We were just there last week (January 4th-10th) and the path to the marketplace is open. It was closed this summer when we were there but is open now. I am not sure if there are plans to close this any time soon but alot of people were walking on it while we there. It is a beautiful walk too I might add.

Thanks for the answer to this. We will be there in 4 months and have requested Congress Park as we usually do. ( Last trip we stayed in the Paddock for the grandkids) Planning to walk to Ghiradelli's the first night!!
