Is The Void worth doing?

My 9-year-old son loves Wreck-it-Ralph, and we are Star Wars fans, too. Has anyone done either of these virtual reality experiences? Is it worth the price? Should we try it?

I did the Star Wars one twice and think it’s definitely worth it, especially if you are Star Wars fans (I haven’t done the Wreck It Ralph one yet). Before I did it, I thought it seemed like a lot of money for the length of time, but it was a really cool and unique experience.

My family did it in March, both my kids love Star Wars and LOVED the experience. It’s very realistic and a bit intense, but you have to be 10 to do it. Will your son be 10 before you visit?

I've done both and I thought that both were great. Just a note The Void has an age requirement of 10+ because the VR equipment is a bit heavy and there are directions to follow etc.

We did wreck it Ralph In November. It was awesome. So fun! Would have done it again in the same trip if it weren’t for the price tag!

We've done Star Wars three times and Wreck it Ralph once with another planned in Feb. We love the experience and have fun as a family team of 3. We started doing this in Feb 2018 as it was our son's 10 birthday and have done it in FL and CA. Both are really fun, but we wanted to do WiR again this time. SW is more intense and Ralph is "cute" but both involve lots of shooting and teamwork.

They didn't "card" him, but we didn't try to break the rules either. Our son is tall for his age and could have probably gotten in at 9, but we aren't the type to try. Ralph would be easy to handle for most any age, but as others noted, the equipment would be heavy for smaller children and could be a safety hazard if they had issues. There's lots of moving around and listening for direction, so it could be hard for some (including adults...).

Yes, they have free lockers.

Sorry I thought you were asking about the void at DtD at DLR since this was on the Disneyland boards thread. DS’s the void has shelves you could leave your stuff on (not locked) when I did the Star Wars one there last January, they could have switched to lockers since then though.

My 11 yo cannot wait to do this. I dislike video games but have to go since he is 11. Is it doable for non gaming people? I’m more afraid I’m going to mess it up for the random couple we will be with.

It is totally doable for non-gamers. My wife and I fit that description perfectly and love the VOID as we've done it 5 times (SWx4, WiRx1) with a 6th (WiR) scheduled for Feb. You really can't mess things up for anyone. Just let your son be the leader and follow him! You will have a blast!

On the locker post:
They have small lockers with keys for use during the adventure. If you need 2 or more they don't seem to mind. They are in the "suit up" and "suite off" area.

The actual expierence itself is about 15 minutes but it takes about 30 minutes from the time you enter the pre show to when you exit. It costs about $35/person.

Just for people wondering, tickets for the void in DTD are on sale for dates through the end of February. The schedule is wreck it Ralph Sun-Wed and half day Thur and then Star Wars other half on Thur then Fri/Sat.
