Is the Swan worth $250 more than the Dolphin?

I'm looking at the nights we need next year prior to our stay at the BWV, and the Swan is coming up $264.25 more than the Dolphin (3 nights, 2 resort view w/ balcony rooms). Is the Swan worth the extra?

As far as club level goes, the difference between the Swan & Dolphin is $183.97. Is the Swan's club level that much different?

Also, when comparing the Swan's price quote for 2 resort views with balcony and 2 club level rooms, it is $20.07 more for the club level (total for 3 nights, both rooms). The Dolphin's difference is $100.35. Anyone have any idea why it's such a large difference?

One more question! Do the king rooms also have a sleeper?

I can't really tell you the difference as far as concierge goes, we only used the Royal Palm Club at the Swan during one stay and we weren't on a conceirge floor. Although I did think the club was very nice as were the CMs. It's great to have if you do breakfast in your room otherwise I don't find it to be such a good value. We do a lot of character breakfasts.

As far as the king rooms go...the only rooms I know of that have sleeper sofas in the king rooms are the studios. The regualr king room we stayed in didn't have a sleeper sofa.

The only thing I can think of why there's such a price difference is that they may be sold out of rooms at the lower price code at the Swan?? When we're you looking at going?

The Swan is priced higher because all of their rooms are completely renovated. When the Dolphin is completed (which is around August of 2004 as per a CM I spoke with) their prices will be the same as the Swan. They are currently working on the 7th floor.

Have you been checking room prices with DU's website? Also sign up for Starwoods Preferred Guest at preferredguest.com . You can check room rates from there also. Sometimes they have different pools of rooms available to them.

We made our ressies at the Dolphin for $15 less a night. I like the convenience of Tubbies and the grotto pool being just a little closer. Anyone in your group qualify for a government discount, entertainment discount, AP or even AAA? Maybe that will make a difference and help you make your decision.:

cindala, the prices I got from S/D were AP rates. If I remember correctly, each resort view with balcony room is $197.50 per night.

From my notes, the Executive Suite is $407.50 per night (have not confirmed this rate w/ the Dolphin). Two Balcony rooms are $395 per night (quoted). Which do you think would be better? There will probably be 5 of us, mom & dad, sis, me & friend.

If you are comparing club pricing, Swan vs Dolphin, the Swan's higher price is worth it, just to get Mama T, super she is!!!!
