I sent in a request and in it I mentioned one of us was disabled and would really appreciate being in the main building area/whatever is closests to things. I'm the disabled one, but I can walk.. I just can't do it a lot and most of the time I'm in pain. I hide it well though.

I'm worried now, I hope they don't think I lied just to get an upgrade. AH!

I can't say for sure, but my guess is they see all sorts of disabilities all the time. Not all disabilities are visible (heart problems for example). My stepmother is in a lot of pain all the time too and she hides it well. My guess is the CM at checkin will only know your requests, not why. Don't worry, but be ready to explain the situation to get what you need.

I wouldn't worry too much about what the Swan thinks and it's really none of their business to ask for verification. You may want to keep that verification handy in the parks, though. You may be able to get a special disability pass. Check the DISabilities board for more info.

Don't worry about it. CMs see "invisible" disabilities all the time. My DW is like you -- she has trouble walking for a long time, so we request a room near the elevator.

Disney CMs are very considerate and understanding. You'll have a terrific time! :)

Serving handicap customers receives top priority at WDW. They have staff that are constantly checking on ways to improve it. Resorts have free wheelchairs you can use. just talk to the Guest Service desk. All parks rent them for 8.00.

You relax and enjoy your stay.

Did you send in your request through the website room request section? If so, did you get a response, and how quickly?

Thanks,
Tammy

Thank you guys! I feel much better now. I was getting worried!

And yes I sent it through there, the first time it took a few days a week tops. And just to make sure I sent it again, and I got a response the next day saying that all my requests have been put down.
