Is the spring alergy season exceptionally bad or is just me?

I have fall allergies (ragweed) and usually spring time is my best time of the year because all the fall allergy triggers are gone.

For the last 2 weeks I've been miserable.

Of course it doesn't help spending all day outside doing chores.

DH has been miserable. He has found some help with the nose sprays (nasalcort etc.) Have you tried anything like that?

I have noticed the same thing...I'm REALLY bad during the spring time...but normally claritan helps...not right now..even with all these storms we've had I can hardly breath.

I've tried those nose sprays but I can't keep them in long enough before I sneeze and have to blow my nose.

we started the growing process and it was bad........went to Disney and it was worse.......and then came home and the rest of the world bloomed......pollen is worse this week then ever before......the whole family is bad.......me.....our son.......our granddaughter and grandson.....everyone I see or hear about is complaining

Yeah... I can tell it's bad when I wake up and immediately my eyes are itchy, really really itchy.

It's so bad I'm dropping eye allergy drops every 2 hours.

Not to mention my sinues are killing me. Kleenexes everywhere.

My DD's Pediatrician said that this year is exceptionally bad for allergies. Both my DD's have allergies and my DH has really bad allergies and they have all been miserable.:(

TERRIBLE!! My asthma has been under complete control since last June. Until about 2-3 weeks ago. I have been having "mild" attack symptoms. My normal singular and Advair meds aren't working quite as well. I can't wait for this to end.

It's exceptionally bad, I think. DS has had seasonal allergies for 10+ years and, this year even his prescription med is barely helping. DD & I have also had to start taking OTC allergy meds which aren't helping too much either. I don't want to over medicate her too soon tho. I think that's part of the reason DS's meds stop working after a while. :( Mine started with sinus trouble also. An infection first, followed with some other congestion issue and now, allergies with a cold for the past 9 days. :( I was on an antibiotic twice so far but, I think that was over-kill. A better allergy med would probably do the trick.

Here's to relief!!! ::yes::

It's crazy this year!!! My eyes are so itchy and red, even under my eyes are sore!!!

DS's asthma has been awful too!!

YUCK!!!

It has been awful. I have never been officially been diagnosed with allergies, but this year I have my suspicions. I think I may need to go see the doctor. My nose has been stuffy, running and I have been sneezing like crazy. I always have sinus problems in the fall/winter, but hardly ever in the spring/summer. They say the pollen count is high for our area, but I hope it doesn't last too long!

Dh is having a terrible time. He had a sinus infection about a month ago, and he's had a TON of migraines. He's on plenty of meds to help, but they aren't helping 100%.

I also have never been diagnosed with allergies, but ever since the fall of '91 I can plan every year right around August/September, I will start up with the runny and stuffy nose, sore throat...and this spring I've had it too.

This poses a problem in our vacation planning because we thought we would go to WDW in April next year, but if that's when both of our allergies hit, we will be miserable the whole time we're there. We could plan for a fall trip, but that's when I know mine will flair up again as well.

Geesh!

Yup, this year has been sheer misery. :(

I have allergies year round, and it has been terrible for about a month for me. I wake up miserable. Alavert has worked pretty well for me ever since Zyrtec went up to $30 bottle on my health insurance.

growing up I never had a problem. But for the last couple of years i have been getting worse. it has gotten so bad the doctor put me on an allergy pill, nose spray, and inhaler ( i have never had any reason to have an inhaler before)

I wake up every morning sneezing, runny nose. Now my DH who had aweful allergies as a kid has gotten better.

not just you....my best friend suffers from allergies, and this has been a horrible year for her.

It's really bad here. Right now it's grass and pecans. I'm coughing and sneezing like crazy even with my allergy meds. :( If we could get some rain I think it would wash the pollen away and make it easier to breathe around here.

We've had nothing but rain-- and I keep hoping for the same--- that stuff is still flying thou I don't really know how.

This is kind of odd!

I have been living in South Korea for almost 2 years and the allergy thing I always associated with spring in NE US doesn't seem to have the same effects as I used to associate with spring. I mean NONE! But grass doesn't even start the growth process till maybe early May and stops (I mean it is gone!) in September!
I'll be home in Lansdale, PA in a month for a week or so so I'll let you know!
