Is the Rose and Crown authentic

I just booked the Rose and Crown Restaurant and I would like to ask you lovely UK people who have eat there if this is an autentic experience?

Does anyone have some pictures?

Or do you all skip the British Restaurants because you have them at home. (We are not thinking about a visit at the Biergarten)

In other words, no it's not really that authentic.

It does sell the right drinks for the most part (though they can't pour a propper guinness) but the food isn't what you'd find in a british pub (which in some ways is a good thing) and the decour is as always a Disneyfied "best day ever" version of a british pub.

Saying that, I do eat there on occasion, and the customer facing CMs are from the UK and it's nice to chat with them, assuming they have the time.

It's a nice restraunt, but not really a true example of a "british pub".

We used the Rose and Crown as a nice easy meeting place when we were there for our wedding. We met our party there for a drink on the first day of the holiday, but I have to say, like you avoiding the Biergarten, why would we want to travel 4,500 miles to do what we can do at the end of our road? And at a slightly higher price I expect too?

I think the Rose and Crown is probably aiming more at the American visitor, and as mentioned above, gives a rather ideal perspective.

yes and no.
we havent been in since 2000 but the chioce of large wasnt similar to the south of england tennants and harp as i recall no fosters or castlemaine xxxx .
its probably the same as irish pubs in english town centers. its what the owners think an irish pub is like but in reality hanging a few shamrocks and irish flags up doesnt make it irish.
what makes agreat British pub is the regulars not the decor so not something achievable in a theme park unless disney are looking for a few guys to sit around drinking all day (i can do that giv us a job). Disney could make it more authentic buy boarding it up and puting up a to let sign (52 pubs a week are closing in the uk).
food wise they need to introduce stale rolls cheese and ham for the full selection and crisps, peanuts and pork scratchings.
in the gents toilets they could do with putting in some cracked tiles and breaking the locks on the stalls and disconect the hand drier i have never been in the ladies which i understand is like an oasis where no expense has been spared by the land lord.

We have eaten here a few times and I agree with the others it is in my opinion themed out how an American would think a british pub would be, some things are cleverly done like the wooden tables and benches, yes there are quite a few UK pubs that have these, we ate in a small country pub last weekend that we looked at each other and just said Rose and Crown. Other things are disneyfied. The menu is quite good, although I had the ploughmans last year and it was not at all a proper UK ploughman - there was no pickled onion!!!!! but the food is good and our children enjoyed it, especially as our server last year came from just near our home, and she was excellent with the boys. I am sure you will enjoy it.

to be honest, we dont even break our pace when in the UK pavilion, we walk straight through without stopping normally, why do i want to be reminded of home when i'm in the best place on earth??!

It doesn't really feel like a british pub to me, it is Disney representation of one. It is a okay place to eat however not really traditional British food. Every other customer I have spoke to in the pub was Canadian.

I would agree that it is an American interpretation of what they think a British pub should look like (did they not get any advisors in??)
I see the same thing every time I see a Hollywood blockbuster that is on location in London. All of the sudden there are 'Bobbies' running around blowing whistles, and every second shot is of a red double decker or phone box.
On another note we tried the Harry Ramsdens fish and chips back in 2005 and DW, who is a big fish lover, wasn't impressed at all.

And the vegetarian option is a vegetable curry. Yuck Would rather have a cucumber sandwich!! Or a cheese butty!

I hate to agree but its true its really not that great. The only time we stopped was to ask one of the CM's a question and it turned out she lived about 20mins from where we do in scotland and knew lots of people that we did.

To a PP you also forgot to add the lovley sticky carpet that seems to be fitted to every proper pub i have ever been in

Although it's not authentic by any stretch I don't think i'd want to eat there purely because it's a 'British pub' I know i've just contradicted myself there! Then again i've never though the food looked/sounded that great either

Do something different! We LOVED the Moroccan restaurant with the music and belly dancing, not to mention food was very good.

This is one place we avoid the food is awful nothing like the great pub meals you get from proper family run pubs over here. The drinks side is slightly better.
