Is the Princess Fantasy Faire worth it?

It's at 9am every morning of our trip. Is this something that gets overly crowded? Is it even worth it?

I remember the Princess show (don't remember the name of it) at WDW. The one they held outside the castle everyday. It was so overly crowded with people. My kids couldn't see anything, and from what I saw of it, it really wasn't worth getting there an hour early to stand in the front (imho).

Let me know if this is something we should add to our itinerary for our upcoming trip. I know the park is going to be very crowded, and I really don't want to "waste" park time getting to this event early if it isn't worth it.

TIA

i would rather pay up $30 for food but have a chance to meet the princesses at Ariel's Grotto.

We've done it and IMHO it's not worth it, at least not with how bad the line was that day. We waited in line at least 30 minutes to meet the Princesses for a quick book sign and picture. And the switch the princesses out so often you never know how you're going to meet.

There are other parts of the Faire that might be worth seeing, like the show, but I wouldn't wait in line to meet the Princesses unless the line is short. I agree that lunch/dinner at Ariel's Grotto is worth the money.

I totally agree! The coronation ceremony and story time are great to see, but I wouldn't waste the time in line.

It starts at 9, but it runs continually until around 5. They have several coronations and storytimes throughout the day, which my daughter loved. We never stand in line to see the princesses, we did that at Ariel's Grotto. It was a nice place to just hang out for a while, do a bit of coloring and decorate a crown. If you want to see the storytime, you can, and it wasn't hard to get a good place to view it from on the floor. The coronation was a bit trickier with all of the parents there, but it was fun. My daughter's very favorite person was Lady Constance who came and colored with her. My daughter kept that picture under her pillow for weeks afterward. My son, on the other hand, thought he was going to die because it was more of a girl thing than a boy thing. They try to incorporate the boys, but I don't think they do it very well.

Yep, ditto, that's the hot tip for princesses.

Make a reservation, show up, meet Ariel, sit in air conditioned comfort, eat lunch, great service, princesses come around to your table and you just enjoy the show and the break from the park in lovely surroundings.

Dress them up in princess costumes and have a 'ball'! princess:

Waiting in line to see three princesses is NOT worth it. I agree with the PP to go to Ariel's Grotto for a meal. That is worth your time an dmoney if meeting princesses is a priority.

BUT ...

The coronation ceremony is worth it. The children either sit in the audience or stand on the main floor and learn to curtsey/bow and how to do a royal dance. It's done in song and is very cute. Three princesses (usually Belle, Aurora and Jasmine) are introduced on stage during the show. After everyone learns to curtsey/bow and dance, three May poles are brought out and the three princesses move to one of the May poles and do a May pole dance with the audience.

The ceremony lasts about 15 minutes. I'm not sure how often it occurs, but I think it's at least once an hour.

In between ceremonies, there is also story telling, coloring, and crown making led by Ladies in Waiting.

My DD's (ages 3 & 5) loved all of this. It was a cool place for the adults to sit while the children were entertained.

I guess I'll be the one lone voice for waiting in line to see the princesses. Since we had such a great experience with the princesses there and got great pictures taken, I say it's worth it. Now, I don't think it's worth a 2-hour wait, especially since there's no guarantees when you get there, but if it's 45 minutes or less, I would say do it. If you can have someone wait in line while your daughter gets her hair done or something that keeps her busy, that would be the best. The pictures we got there with the Photopass photographers are just beautiful!!

We also did Ariel's, and although we enjoyed it, the interaction with Cinderella and Snow White at the PFF really made my daughter's trip. I guess the deciding factor would be how important the whole princess thing is to your daughter.

Thanks everyone!

I didn't even realize that you can meet the princesses here! lol. I thought it was just a show.

We've "met the princesses" so many times before, if the line is short (which I'll assume it WON'T be), we'll meet them again.

The children in our party: 2 teens; the girls are 8 and 1; and a boy who is 6.

We did Ariels on our last trip and really enjoyed it. When did they start having princesses? It was just Ariel (the mermaid Ariel), Goofy, and Chip n' Dale. This was about 4 years ago.
