Is the Poly worth $1000 more then WL?

I have stayed at both, and definitely prefer WL over the Poly! Don't get me wrong, I had a great time at the Poly, but payed premium price to enjoy the benefits of concierge! WL has a great atmosphere! Also, the boat ride to MK is almost as fast as the monorail from Poly! Another thing to consider is...free upgrades from standard view rooms at WL to courtyard views are very common!

I have stayed at both and loved them both. I don't know how you could get a thousand dollars more of enjoyment out of Poly over WL.

We split our October stay between both and I have to say that I agree, I like the WL better. I agree about the room size, but as someone else said 1K buys a lot of Mickey bars! I also agree about the CR, big rooms, fractionally more $$ than WL but if your heart is set on the monorail................... otherwise enjoy the WL, it's my DH's new fave. Going back in April if not before............

If you can save $1K and have no "what if I had only tried . . .", then I'd definitely say GO FOR THE SAVINGS!

That being said, for our upcoming trip, we are staying at the Poly. Hey, no hard feelings, there's a variety of hotels and to each his/her own.

I think if money is not an issue then I would go with the Poly. I think the Poly is definitely a more deluxe resort then the WL will ever be. The two are worlds apart! If you can easily afford the $1000 extra I would stay at the Poly. Personally I wouldn't stay at the WL if it is $2000 less then the Poly~

No. I wouldn't spend $1,000 more to stay at the Poly. We've stayed at both...several times.

If you really want to experience the Poly, consider switching resorts and staying there for a night or two. That way you only spend a few hundred more and you get to see what it's like. We split stays often and it's a nice way to get a different flavor.

The WL is a wonderful resort.

I would either split the stay or just stay at the WL. POLY is one resort that I would love to stay at someday. But if I could be at the WL AND save $1000, I would do it in a heartbeat.

IMHO, I do not think the Polynesian is worth $1,000 than the WL. No way, no how! The rooms and bathrooms are a little bigger than those at the WL, but to me it's not worth that much extra money! I could put that $1,000 to much better use!

I've never stayed at WL but stayed at the Poly in November. It was nice but if I had paid $300 a night I would've been dissapointed. We were there with another family and were sooooo busy that we didn't spend much time at the hotel(although the kids loved the pool!!), so I would say, upgrade at the WL and save some money-believe me, you go through it like crazy once you get to WDW-might as well save when you still can , lol!!! The Poly is my favorite resort and I would choose to stay there every visit if possible, but the $ thing is a big deal. For a couple hundred I'd go to the Poly but for $1,000 I most likely would not. Hard to go wrong at the WL!!

I haven't stayed at the Poly yet, but we did stay at WL in May 2003. We had a standard room that was four floors above the lobby. It was VERY loud (esp. Whispering Canyon Cafe)....also, while the landscaping was awesome, the pool was rather small. I grew up in Colorado and doing my share of camping.

Even though I haven't stayed at the Poly, that's where my vote would be. I know there is a throng of people that swear by WL...I'm just not one of them. Since it wouldn't break you, spend the extra $1k and stay at the Poly. Besides, it's your freakin' anniversary. Have a good one!

Would you consider switching over to WLV? That way you get a nice little condo. For $1,000 it seems you would have more options than just WL or Poly. I've never stayed at the Polynesian can someone tell me what the difference is besides room size and being on the monorail?

I say do it. You want to or you wouldn't even be asking the question. If the money won't break you, and you are looking for permission, do it and don't look back or second guess yourself. The sooner you make the decision, the sooner you can start planning your vacation from the Poly. Like the commercial says, 'JUST DO IT!"

I like the idea of the fireworks cruise, couples massage or another really special and romantic event over a few extra square feet and a monorail ride. (Plus I lke the theming at the WL) Artists Point is one of the best WDW restaurants and worth a try if you haven't already.

Having stayed at both, the WL is still our favorite!

I agree with the posters here - NO WAY! In my opinion, Poly doesn't hold a candle to the WL.
