Is the Playhouse Disney Show closing for refurb?

I thought I had read that it was closing for refurb... we are going to WDW in April and that is the one thing my dd constantly talks about wanting to do. I don't see it on any official refurb calendar- does anyone know if it is closing for refurb and if so, when?

Hi NOM, I'm bumping this b/c I also need to find this info out. We are going in January 2008 and have 4 year old DD. I do know that the WDW site states that starting in Feb 2008 it will be all new so you should be fine.

I want to see if they are closing also. it didn't say they were closing on the site but it could be happening if they are doing a new thing starting in February. It was one of the things to do on our list that we have never done before.

I believe it will be shut down most, if not all, of January 2008, reopening in February.

My dd just saw it in Oct, and loved it. She talks all the time about going back and seeing it again. She is 3- you know how kids at that age are- she talks all the time about all the details about the show: "bear came out, and they opened the storybook, and then stanley was there, and then pooh and piglet..." etc. She always says she wants to bring her Ma and Pa and her piglet doll back to show them the show. I am a little nervous that she will be upset that it will be a new show, but oh well that's life!

Does anyone know who will be in the new show? I think I read Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but I wonder who else? The main person she wants to see in the show is piglet, so I am crossing my fingers that he is in a My Friends Tigger and Pooh segment.

I wish I could remember where I read about this so I could link to it for you. I think the new show will have Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny (maybe?), and will add Darby and Buster to the Pooh friends already there. Seems like the Little Einsteins are joining too, but I can't find where I read about it to be sure!

We are going in April, and I am looking forward to the update. DD4 has enjoyed the show, but she doesn't remember most of the characters that are in it now.

"Playhouse Disney-Live on Stage!" A whole new cast of friends from Playhouse Disney fills the popular Playhouse Disney stage. Children will be on their feet singing, clapping and dancing to performing stars from "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse," "Little Einsteins," "Handy Manny" and more. ("Playhouse Disney-Live on Stage!" will be dark most of January 2008, reopens February 2008)
